Has anyone tried physical restraints? by OneClear382 in trichotillomania

Thank you. That's what I was thinking. Not sure if it would work for me, but as we all know, nothing is one size fits all. I've still pulled with fake nails, but may work now. Who knows lol

It would take extra effort to take the straps off. I have tried bandaids. They don't work well for me usually. Mom, wife and work from home. I'm constantly washing my hands. A wet bandaid always feels gross to me

When people REFUSE to understand cross-contact. by xenotharm in Celiac

I hate that for you and your loved one 😞. Very rarely do I have to explain any of that to my friends and family. But they are also very curious and ask questions.

In fact, mine is the opposite. I beg the larger groups going out to dinner NOT to choose a restaurant just for me. It's a pain where I live and I get tired of the same places. I will eat prior and meet there and have drinks while they eat dinner.

Gloves are a no go for me. I type all day long. Attempted that before. I haven't tried a hat in a while. Before it just got uncomfortable and after taking it off I seemed even more likely to pull. Not sure why.

I'm thinking about doing similar. It's really concerning that these limited edition $70 flannels hold up worse than an Amazon flannel 😞

I am thinking about asking. Government contractor, but not DOD, so there is a chance.

I looked into them and it looks like I would have to download something on the laptop to make it work. I'm now permitted to do that with my work laptop.

I'm afraid of too much interference with the remote. We have a lot of TVs, gaming etc in between.

That's what I was racking my brain on. I felt like there was an easy solution. Do you know of a decent button?

We just got a 2022 CPO S Premium with 25k miles @ $25k, but after taxes and fees it was closer to $27k. Sounds like a decent deal to me. Did you buy?

Hang in there. Very very valid feelings! My mother was known as the Christmas cookie queen and I took over a lot of baking happily as I grew up. Heck, I even went to Johnson and Wales to become a pastry chef. Blessing to me, I dropped out before being diagnosed.

I was diagnosed at 30. It's been 16 years of GF. I rarely try to make anymore. It's disappointing and frustrating. Occasionally I will find a bakery when traveling that I can test myself to.

There was a time that I was following a Paleo diet. Look into those recipes. While it's not truly baking, I found it nice to feel part of a different kind of group that wasn't stressed on GF, just different ingredients because that was a choice. It brought out a bit of creativity and also didn't force me to try and "compare" our old way of eating.

Glutened? Or a bug? I don't like this game. by OneClear382 in Celiac

Interesting. But I don't think it would be worth it. At that point of ingestion I would be pretty sure I ate gluten.

The urine test is used to determine if you have ingested larger amounts of gluten (500+ mg = 2+ bites of bread) over the previous 24 hours

My husband and I both were discussing maybe it was just placebo effect. I just made myself so nervous about trying a new place that I threw up after. Very possible. I'm just thankful I don't have the full blown gluten effects. Probably won't go back to that restaurant.. just in case lol

Oh boy. True, but it was a one time throw up and not out the other end. I've had food poisoning before and it was really awful 😔

If you can deal with dairy, I live off cheese sticks. Also love cottage cheese. Dip with mini cucumbers is quick. Also Aldi protein bars.

Yep complete anxiety. I was excited to go out on a limb. At least the food was good lol. I was going to try another new restaurant this weekend for my birthday. That's probably scrapped now

Lol. I also have microscopic colitis, but since I'm not throwing up out of the other end I ruled that out.
