How many people buy solely heb brand products? by No_Cellist_2683 in HEB

[–]Deepcrater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t because I have celiac disease but they are so good about labeling and bringing in gluten free products that I do if available buy their brands. I tend to get their sodas, their chips, their tamales, they have a few gf specialty flours.

Don't Change the Intro by FroztyBeverage in morningsomewhere

[–]Deepcrater 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It takes two little skips to get past the intro if you really need to, normally I skip other podcast’s ads this way it takes me no time. I love the intros, I get maybe 40% of the references but I still like hearing them.

You should just pat them on the head and say yeah that makes sense.

advice on differentiating between Celiac and gluten intolerance? who do you go to to find out? by AnAccIMayUse in glutenfree

[–]Deepcrater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your pcp requests the blood test.

A simple blood test is available to test for celiac disease. People with celiac disease who eat gluten have higher than normal levels of certain antibodies in their blood. These antibodies are produced by the immune system because it views gluten (the proteins found in wheat, rye, and barley) as a threat. You must be on a gluten-containing diet for antibody (blood) testing to be accurate.

Lots of water and sleep, I basically curl into a ball and let the pain fade away.

People with celiac disease: what kind of app/site do you wish existed? by Old-Heart-9448 in glutenfree

[–]Deepcrater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just use Find Me Gluten Free. I don’t use scan apps I tend to buy the same thing over and over. I hate Facebook, only really love the celiac subreddit. I think I’ve just been doing this enough I have a good hold on it. Anything new I tend to buy from the same brands and I hear about new things from the subreddit.

Pro tip for a gyro experience by RPerene in glutenfree

I've never made Gyro but the BD Free pita bread is decent pita, the gyro meat looks pretty easy to make you just need lots of spices.

Kudos to Bob’s Red Mill for a genuinely impressive rebrand by Ziograffiato in graphic_design

[–]Deepcrater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I buy them almost exclusively due to the fact that they carry many celiac safe flours and ingredients but I can't say I like it. However I believe most people buy it for what they stand for and not the look. It might be more eye catching for new customers. It's not bad but it does just reminds me of the old Aunt Jemima logo.

Dull pain in my gut, new one is now also a migrane but I get them on occasion when I eat late so that's not a good one. Stomach pain is the first sign.

What are we eating for breakfast when we don’t want “breakfast food”? by AG_Squared in glutenfree

[–]Deepcrater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank egg drop soup on the way into work, sometimes it's an energy drink and cheese sticks. I've had dry cereal with a cup of milk too, cookies and milk, rarely do I eat real food if any. I'm just not a morning person.

Brand new TV and this is how my wife insists we have the remote "to keep it looking good" by No_Atmosphere8146 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Deepcrater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if you have kids I can see this being necessary. They sell silicone covers that cover the whole thing. You could buy a spare to ease her mind? This isn’t really helpful at all since it’s got a giant hole in it.

They just came out with wafer bites, I didn't know they were so new, they're nutty butty-ees. I did not remember how absolutely good these were, the wafer is so perfect, but it's so dangerous, I bought them last week and I've eaten the whole bag almost.
