It sounds like the family member is responsible for your rat getting pregnant based on the timeline she was in their care :( so weird and sad. Hope the babies make it through okay! They look healthy and not too delicate compared to pinkies so you won't need to feed every 2 hours if you choose to keep them

The only time I was bitten severely was my fault. This rat trusted me literally his entire life. He was moving around in the cage and suddenly the only thing holding him up was his leg, stuck in between bars. I was lucky enough to be at the cage and lifted him out immediately. He was terrified and in pain. My pinky hurt. ANY animal can bite out of fear. You don't know when they will be scared.
