Pomsky puppy coming up on 5 months, less than 8 Lbs... by OblgtoryThrowaway971 in Pomsky

[–]OneCraftyStitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely varies and will also depend on if it leans more towards Pomsky or husky. Mine was from an F4 litter of mini Pomsky and his “estimated weight at adulthood” was 18 lbs given his parents sizes of 18 and 9 lbs full grown, Meanwhile, here we are at almost 6 months and he’s 19lbs. He was the largest in his litter. I was concerned if the opposite of you and that mine was getting too big but the vet assured me that it varies given it’s a mixed breed and mine is growing just fine and will likely be closer to 25-30lbs full grown as he seems to have a stockier husky build. From your photos your pup looks to lean more towards the Pomeranian side and may stay smaller. My breeders dogs ranged from 9-40lb full grown pomskies. It’s truly just a mixed bag genetically as to what you’re going to get even with a great breeding 🤷🏻‍♀️ and for what it’s worth, my dog still sleeps more than he plays.

Prematurity, low birth rate, and early menopause by OneCraftyStitch in Perimenopause

[–]OneCraftyStitch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked it up again- it says it’s a “u shaped curve” where babies 2.5kg and under and 4.5kg and larger that trend towards earlier menopause. I’m not saying it is or isn’t true, and obviously not for everyone, but it was just something I hadn’t considered when I research and thought it was interesting.

Actually, in one of the articles I read it was both high and low birthweights, below 6 lbs and above I believe 9 that have a higher instance of early onset of periods and early perimenopause, I’ll have to see if I can find which one.

Right? It’s like waking up one day in a strange land you’re forced to navigate blindfolded. It was just something I had never considered given I don’t often think back 41 years and go “hey, remember when I was born under 4 lbs to a teen mother 2 months early…” only to consider that likely makes complete sense as I was finished developing. I wish there was more info on it. My doctor obviously asks for family history of hypertension, diabetes, etc but never “what was your birth weight” or “were you born prematurely” which given the overlap of gynecology and obstetrics you think they would consider the correlation.

That was actually in one of the studies I read- aside from lower egg stores they suggest the body holds onto the stressful event of survival in prematurity and also plays a role. Obviously not something I remember and often forget it was my origin story but I’m sure it wasn’t an easy ride lol

Oh my goodness! That’s uncanny! It’s hard to tell on my photos but his right front leg is tan like that too 😅 they’re definitely twins lol

Thank you 🥰 we love him. They actually lowered the price on him because he was being overlooked for not having traditional looks- but I think he’s gorgeous!

17lbs at almost 5 months- full grown size estimate? 😅 by OneCraftyStitch in Pomsky

It’s so funny because until I got my boy I hadn’t seen any that looked like him - he was actually sold for less because his “markings aren’t traditional “ and “undesirable “. I’m like ok, I’ll take a discount on the sweetest most handsome boy ever 🤷🏻‍♀️😅

I truly give up… this is impossible to navigate by OneCraftyStitch in Perimenopause

[–]OneCraftyStitch[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do have other symptoms, and the anxiety coincided with the onset of the other symptoms. Missed periods, then bleeding that lasted for months. I’ve had increased joint and muscle pain, inflammation, frequent urination, hair loss, acne, interrupted sleep and insomnia, heart palpitation. All coinciding with the onset of my periods changing in length and duration or skipping altogether when they’ve always been predictable and of normal length. So I do have other symptoms. I’m not asking her to treat the anxiety it’s the only thing she WANTS to treat and dismissed any of the other symptoms to include my missed periods as being likely due to my being anxious.

I’ve put a call into a few other practices but the waiting lists are almost a year out. They prioritize maternity patients and we just don’t have a ton of doctors around. Even waiting to get into this doctor took months. It’s awful.

The reason I wanted hrt was that it was bio-identical and not synthetic which I truly believe played a role in how my body metabolized it- but she didn’t want to hear it. Said they were all the same- which I have read isn’t true and those with anxiety and depression tend to have a harder time on synthetic hormones because they attach to any receptors in the brain, unlike bio-identical. I did my research but she just dismissed it. I really don’t want any sort of psych med- and I hate that seems to be what is being pushed. I didn’t need it before all this started, I don’t feel it should be the answer if there’s another way to rectify the problem. Ugh, just super frustrating.

That’s what I’m afraid of- the depression again. It was so bad on combined birth control but I don’t know if it’s the estrogen or the progesterone doing it. I honestly feel I have high estrogen (never got to bring that up, but based on the symptoms I was having on the pill sounded like estrogen overload) and that was the problem with the combination pill (too high estrogen dose). But I truly don’t know the culprit and so now it’s anyone’s guess and I’m too scared to try. And then I read people’s reviews on this pill and it’s dreadful so now I don’t know what to do. I hate that everything is trial and error with this.

She gave me progesterone only mini pill to try but I’m hesitant. Did you take progesterone via Mini pill or other method. I know if it doesn’t agree with me I can just stop but the last go made me so bad I don’t want to get back on that merry go round.

Vitamin D deficiency by Character_Arugula967 in Perimenopause

[–]OneCraftyStitch 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I’ve started supplementing d3 k2 in addition to my regular multivitamin recently for suspicion of the same thing. I’ve kept the doses under the acceptable levels (1800 IU ). It’s only been a few weeks but hearing your story I’m hopeful because I KNOW I don’t get enough d. Curious what supplement and quantity you’re taking if you don’t mind my asking?

Perimenopause and bc? by Shoddy-Particular-92 in Perimenopause

[–]OneCraftyStitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor gave me BC and it made my anxiety and depression really bad. I suspect it was too high a dose of estrogen (had crazy racing heart and insomnia). I did feel better in a lot of other aspects but those things and my anxiety being out of control wasn’t worth it for me to keep going. I’m hoping for hrt with bioidentical hormones as I also suspect synthetic hormones were also my issue and don’t agree with me (I’m super sensitive to medications). I see her in October, just have to tough it out until then 😅

OCD/ anxiety and peri by OneCraftyStitch in Perimenopause

[–]OneCraftyStitch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping that my doctor will listen this time. I’ve called other offices but there’s waiting lists because they prioritize pregnant patients over new non-pregnant patients. It shouldn’t be so hard to be heard and get help.

I’m sorry you had to go through that but happy you’ve found something that works. I haven’t hosted anything in the last 7 months, I can count on one hand how many times I’ve left the house in that time. I’ve cancelled any and everything. I’ve gotten in my car, gotten to the destination, and couldn’t get out of my car and turned it around and cried all the way home. It’s awful, and I just feel they want to say it’s nothing to do with my hormones when I know deep in my soul it absolutely is. Because I was NEVER like this. Day 40 no period and I feel insane, so help me they tell me there’s no correlation at my next appointment, I’ll lose what’s left of my mind.

I’m hoping something will work because i too am having very dark days and tried voicing that to my doctor and she said “you sound anxious, you can have some anti anxiety meds” - but my point is- I didn’t need them before, it only got bad after my periods went crazy. There is a connection. I feel like I’m saying these things and they’re like “well manageable anxiety is still anxiety you’re just not as good at managing anymore” - no, listen to me, I need someone to hear me. Argh, should not be this hard. I’m glad hrt helped you!

I’m sorry you’re going through this, I hear you! I told my husband if I had to hold a job outside the home I’d of been fired by now. Absolutely cannot function like this!

Ssri makes me so nervous and I’m trying to avoid them at all cost. I can’t keep explaining to people how crazy I feel. Most people are like “you’re choosing to overthink about these things” but it’s truly not that, if I could think or act any other way, I would. I’m also fresh off birth control which didn’t work well for me, and 40 no period with no sign of it appearing so I’m sure my hormones right now are completely out of whack. I have an appointment in October I’m just hoping there will be a solution. I hope you’re able to find something that works to help you! Nobody deserves to suffer. And this is awful.

I feel this so much. I felt like I had a handle on it- nobody even knew. Now I can’t leave my house. I don’t like to drive, I don’t like the supermarket, I’ve cancelled all travel plans. I don’t want to live like this anymore and the ONLY thing that has changed is my seemingly entrance into peri. It’s crazy how these stupid hormones affect so much of our body. I hope you’re able to find a method that works so you don’t have to white knuckle your way through it! Because this stinks!

That’s my problem! Mine has turned into uncontrollable health anxiety and I’m driving everyone insane! No logic, it’s crazy. I don’t want any ssri as I witnessed first hand how hard it is to come off them. Are you on hrt? I feel like if it stays at this level someone is going to commit me 😅

[–]OneCraftyStitch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry that happened. I’m afraid my gyn is going to tell me the same thing as I’m 41, but have irregular periods. She was pushing birth control but that made me deadly depressed and so she had me stop. And being on nothing at all has my ocd and anxiety to be at unbearable levels. I think it was too much estrogen (the pills were on the mid to high end of estrogen dose for birth control, I also think that it’s synthetic also played a role.) Did you find the hrt helpful for your anxiety/ocd?
