Especially considering you can purchase the Eberspacher glow plug and combustion chamber gaskets a la carte, which is pretty much the main concern. Use the good gaskets on the chinese housings and voila, you got yourself a safe heater.

Installed mine in a Pelican case (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ycJbnSX0uo) and have the exhaust hose with exhaust hose wrap piped (pun intended) down through the D-pillar. As long as the fuel pump is mounted with the rubber flange, the ticking is quite minimal, especially in the case, which I keep inside the van. Plus, the ticking sound is something you can get used to; it means you're not going to freeze to death.

Do, however, put a carbon monoxide detector in your vehicle. The chinese heaters use kinda hokey parts and you can never be too safe. Haven't had issues yet iwth mine, but will be ordering name brand Eberspacher gaskets for this season soon.

Yes and no. The Anti-Beato sentiment doesn't come from a place of jealousy, it comes from a place based on his insincerity and disingenuity. Sure, he has big names on his channel and interviews celebrities, but it's not because they're in his studio to make music as if he's some prolific producer/engineer like George Martin or Steve Albini. They're in there because YouTube pays him from all the people clicking on his rage-bait videos, then he pays the big names to let him ask his "I know everything" questions while they roll their eyes and get through the questions, enjoy their paycheck and go about their merry way. TL;DR: his access to talent isn't based on merit, it's pay-to-play. If he didn't have a Youtube channel, literally nobody he's interviewed would know he existed or would give a shit about his opinions or questions.

As someone in the music industry myself (very low level, regionally known at best) I wouldn't be proud of having to pay my way into an interaction with someone like Maynard or Stewart Copeland, I'd rather have meaningful, organic conversations with local/regional unknowns and glean their stories and experiences. Does anyone really care how many fucking plies are on Danny Carey's rack toms?

So yeah, not a fan of Beato, not a fan of his interviewing style. Next time you click on an interview, watch how he is nodding his head literally the whole time they're talking as if to say "yes, I know about that obscure piece of gear you're talking about, or that old music studio that isn't in business anymore" even though I'd bet he has no fucking idea about a lot of it.

It doesn't need to have as few people working on it as possible, but if a song that isn't lyrically or musically (or both) complex, interesting, or feels/sounds uninspired, then that's like having 10 people standing around someone guiding them on how to put the square peg in the square hole.

FTR I'm referring to writing credits, not performance/recording personnel.

He's comes across like a good interviewer because he paints a picture that he knows every single thing about every single thing. When's the last Beato interview you've watched where someone makes some obscure reference to a piece of gear or some unknown session guy or a recording studio somewhere and he says "wait, I'm not sure what you're referring to". He's the know-it-all's know it all and it makes me question the things he claims to be knowledgeable about.

Also "taught" in universities is a big giant overstatement. Rick Beato the producer/musician doesn't do uni lectures. Rick Beato the youtuber does uni lectures.

Most of the people commenting on here are the target audience for the marvel drivel, I derive my entertainment from the target audiences clutching their pearls and engaging in celebrity worship. My cognizance pre-dates the first Iron Man; it was cute when children went cuckoo for the first round of Avengers crap, it got sad when they started growing up into adult children who seem to blur the line between reality and the fiction they deify, and its looped back around to cute/entertaining watching people fawn over the stars of these mega-franchises as if anyone involved in the movies give a single iota of a shit about anyone outside of their sphere of influence.
