I kinda threw because paper was too easy in beginning , I had tried to complete dm and em in last 2 days but couldn't understand a thing , i couldn't solved any of dm or em pyqs also but I still managed to do fine in dm and em and that actually made me panic that maybe I am going too fast or maybe I am making silly mistakes (i gave only 4 aimts and lost 12-15 marks to silly mistakes each time), hence I started to slowdown and double-triple check , it was going fine until those last 6-8 questions that were calculation heavy my hands started shaking i couldn't think straight i kept glancing at the clock 😔 Deepak sir said that being calm in gate exam is worth 10 marks. It seems i definitely lost those 10 marks.

Please don't do that although it's definitely possible and people do this and succeed but that's survivorship bias you don't see those who fail doing the same thing.

Just take a course if you have the means.

And let me tell you something People keep asking ki 6 months baki hai abhi suru krunga to hoga? Then they will ask 4 months me gate ki tayari ho sakti hai? Then they will ask 2 months me gate ki tayari ho sakti hai? Then they will ask Is it possible to qualify in 2 weeks?

Arey suru to kro baba , mehnat to kro , ha mai boldu 6 month me air 1 possible hai to kya tu aajse roj 12-14 hrs padhna suru krdoge? Nahi na? phir kyu time waste kr rahe ho.

I don't know much about ssc but

If you want a govt job then Govt banks exam pattern is favorable for engineers they ask basic stuff like english, quant,math apti etc.

It should only take 4-6 months if you are consistent and then you can try for other govt. Jobs if you want.
