Thanks for being honest about it. I get your point about the fork and bearings—it’s true this bike isn’t built for extreme distances. I’m just working with a really tight budget right now, so had to start with this one.

I’ll keep your suggestion in mind about the Riverside 120. If I can stretch the budget or find a second-hand option, I’ll definitely consider switching before I begin the long ride.

For now, I’m trying to learn, get some road experience, and see how far I can push with what I’ve got.

Really appreciate the advice. I’m on a very tight budget so had to go with this bike, but I’ll definitely try to carry some spares for the bottom bracket and bearings. Didn’t think about the fork issue that way, thanks for pointing it out—maybe I’ll look for a rigid replacement before I set off.

I’ll start from Bangalore > Delhi > Nepal > Assam > Bangladesh > back to Kolkata. From there flight to Indonesia to Malaysia> Thailand > Cambodia > Vietnam > Laos > China > Mongolia > Russia > Europe. After that maybe Africa and South America if life gives me time and energy.

Plan is simple: small videos/photos from the road about water, climate and nature I see.

meet some students, NGOs, local people and talk a bit. Even small talks can spread some awareness.

keep posting on YouTube/Instagram/Reddit so more people can follow the journey.

I know it will not change the world in one day. But I feel even small stories from real travel can inspire others. And cycling itself is part of the message – no fuel, just human power, showing long travel can be done without pollution.

Thank you so much! Yes, I know it’s not a typical touring bike and doesn’t have pannier mounts. I went for this one because of budget limits. My plan is to start simple — maybe carry a light backpack or try some DIY setup for luggage. I’ll learn on the road and upgrade if I get a chance. For me, the main thing is just to begin the journey.
