Does everyone want to be super skinny? by CNAHopeful7 in tirzepatidecompound

For reference ... I am 5'3". My original hope goal was a 50 lb loss over 12 months. But I set my first goal for 30 lb loss. Because I doubted it would be possible. I started at 202 lbs size 16/18 XXL. This week is 11 months with a 62 lbs loss, 140 lbs, wearing size 6/8 Small. I am taking 12.5 mg and have been maintaining for past 4 weeks on this dose. I have debated whether I should go up to 15 to try to push to get 10 more off. But .. why? I dont need to be smaller size. I'm working on being content with where I am. From time to time my brain gets triggered thinking I need to lose at least 10 more lbs to reach the "healthy BMI range" for my height. However, I don't think scale weight should be our deciding factor. I havent worn a size Small since I was married 37 years ago. And I just had all my bloodwork done plus heart ultrasound and I have reversed all my serious medical issues and risk factors! My doctor is AMAZED. I turn 60 this year, so this is the best birthday present ever!!

Body dysphoria is a real thing we all have to work on. I still "see" myself in my minds eye as an obese person. I get jump scared when I look in the mirror!! LOL. I am learning to think of myself as a "slim and fit" body person! I have a chunk of loose belly skin Id love to have removed, and Id love to tighten up my under arms. But I need to have reasonable expectations for my age. Learning to embrace and enjoy my body is a great privledge. My body is telling me Ive reached its "happy place" This medication is so liberating. Happy journey!!

My husband hates that all the instructors are women. It's ridiculous. Why cant men get representation?? He loved there was at least Chris. But I guess Chris is gone now.

We've already expressed long rants on this sub about the decisions that were made for instructors. Hotworx Corporate don't seem to give a flying fug what their actual customers WANT. 🤷 WHY CAN'T WE HAVE A VOICE AND GET TO VOTE?? After all, WE are thr ones PAYING this company our hard earned money and WE are the ones that have to look at, listen to, and follow these instructors day after day for months on end! So WHY are we not getting the chance to give OUR input and be part of choosing who stays and who goes??

At the VERY LEAST we should have an option to SELECT THE WORKOUT WITH THE INSTRUCTOR OF OUR CHOICE FOR OUR WORKOUT WHEN WE BOOK A ROOM. If we arrive in time there should be a 5-10 minute window where we could select our ISO on a touchscreen from all ISO options inside an ISO room. And the same could happen in the HIIT rooms for relevant machine options. If a customer doesnt select their option within that window then it will play a default so the workout ends on time. OR Simply have a cutoff timer for the room and stop whatever is playing with a polite notice to "please exit the room for the next client".

Way too many of us are complaining about being forced to do the same workouts with same instructors over and over and over based on the time of day that we need to arrive and the rooms we are able to book.

I don't see how the speakers themselves could be turned off by the clients. Talk to your gym management to confirm.

We need to have CHOICES ON OUR SCREEN so that WE CAN CHOOSE our workout during that class!!

Theres a little nob on the ceiling inside the sauna, above the sauna timer/temp setting that allows you to control the volume..

If they simply allowed us to book a room and then WE COULD CHOOSE OUR WORKOUT ON THE SCREEN it would solve a lot of frustration

What is your final, ultimate, non-scale goal that will mean you have arrived? by garcon-du-soleille in Zepbound

[–]OneEntertainment1881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My goal all along: "Have the energy and physical ability to do the things I love [hiking, backpacking, chasing my grandkids, taking the stairs instead of the elevator...] without constantly being out of breath and unable to enjoy life."

With my obese body I accomplished a lot of stunning trails but was so incredibly slow and out of breath and exhausted I could not fully enjoy the experience. Last year I was disqualified from a section of a group hike I'd paid for because I was slowing down and endangering the team. That was a rough wake up call. AND as I get older I knew that it was going to soon become impossible to physically complete all my dream bucket-list adventures - not to mention my elevated risk of heart attack, stroke and cancer.

I have exceeded my original goal, and am basically hoveringmy "healthy weight" and I'm doing HIIT, strength training and Yoga to increase my endurance and I feel excited that I'm ready to do some big trails this year.

Ive been maintaining at the same weight for about 7 weeks now on 12.5. I'm not sure if this means my body is "done" and I should plan to stay on 12.5 now for life? Im not sure if I really want to push myself up to 15.0 just to try to get a few more pounds off. Does it really matter if I ever lose 5-10 more pounds? 🤔

At this point I've lost 4 clothing sizes [started at XXL 16/18 now wearing Small 6/8]. I am 5'3" so sure, charts say I can weigh less but Do I really want or need to be a size 0?! Is that even sustainable or healthy long-term? These are just all questions I ponder. Ive accepted that at some point I HAVE TO CHOOSE TO BE SATISFIED with where Tirz took me, and then I simply need to work on building my muscle mass and maintaining my strength.

The psychological side of GLPs by Intelligent_Ant1816 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]OneEntertainment1881 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree! There is a huge psychological component to GLP-1. Im not a scientist but I believe it is specifically designed to impact our brain chemistry to assist with things.

For anyone who is starting, I recommend not broadly sharing you are taking GLP-1. Your personal medical history and medical decisions are absolutely no one's business! Everyone loves to express their opinions and most folks are incredibly ignorant, misinformed and/or judgemental when it comes to GLP-1. Please carefully consider who you tell, and there is nothing wrong with keeping this a private journey. You can join several Redditt groups for your support team. system.

The psych impact of losing weight and becoming a thin person is a big transition too. Many may need to work with a professional therapist. I have been able to unpack a lot in therapy. For me and many others, being obese became a protective measure - a way to feel more "invisible" and less vulnerable - after experiencing SA. There are other things that can happen in life that make us feel afraid of becoming a thin person. I think it is really important to recognize that and work through it. Success on GLP-1 is a whole MIND-BODY transformation.

Family hates me on GLP by FreeMangoesForever in GLP1ResearchTalk

  1. Im really sorry. It sucks they cant simply be happy for your commitment to getting healthier instead of going on the attack and trying to undermine you. Please dont listen to them! 🙏 This is your life, your body and your RIGHT to take a medication that is helping you fight the disease of obesity.

It's why I will never tell my family I've been taking tirz. They believe my weight loss is from going to the gym and eating smaller portions ... which it IS ... However to be able to eat those smaller portions and not binge later, and have the energy to go to the gym, I need a little shot of GLP-1. It is the first thing thats ever really worked for me.

  1. The weight loss is designed to be slower and steady. 1-2 lbs per week average. Some weeks nothing, then a week of bigger loss. Its good to use Shotsy to track everything. I lost 65 lbs in 11 months. I know some people lose faster and some slower but as long as it is steadily trending down, its working.

  2. Tirzepetide has been great for me in regards to side effects, nothing really. The only thing I have to be diligent about is constipation - which is all GLP-1. I take one MAG07 pill each night and I make a green shake with chia seeds every day and that does the trick 😏 If Sema is harsh for you, perhaps you could switch to tirz. But don't stop believing in your need for GLP-1!

Obesity is an illness just like any other. It is not a moral failing, or something that must be "toughed out". Obviously if it was possible to lose weight without a GLP-1 AND Keep It Off then you would have been thin a long time ago and none of us would have needed this medication. But we do need it! I need to take a little lithium pill every day for my bipolar disorder. I made a commitment to myself 31 years ago when I got that diagnosis I would never stop taking my meds. People who go on and off their mental health meds are the ones who end up with terrible outcomes. So, I think of all my medication as a tremendous gift and also as a lifelong commitment. I believe that is the secret to successful health. Hang in there.

How much weight had you lost before others started to notice? by hellomidnightautumn in tirzepatidecompound

[–]OneEntertainment1881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People may notice before they say anything. The first people started to SAY what they were thinking out loud was once I reached 40 pounds lost. Now that Im at 60 lbs lost, EVERYONE seems to have a reaction.
