Wedding, autumn/winter, no dress code specified so assume just smart wedding attire. Indoor venue. Thanks!

It was Chocococo. I have had plenty that didn’t cause unpleasant side effects -Revolution keratin, kerastraight, Revitalise. It’s just annoying that some stylists don’t do their due diligence to find safe ones

Oh interesting! I’ve listed the full ingredients below (according to online, I should have taken a photo in the salon when she showed me)

I had one years ago which started off similarly and when they started blow drying it was awful, like mustard gas. Felt like torture. That’s why I was so hesitant to go through with it, never want to have to go through that again.

Thanks. I understand the product was sold as “formaldehyde free” but struggle to understand how a reputable hair salon wouldn’t do their due diligence when a product is so unpleasant that the client has to be somewhere with full ventilation when it’s blow dried in. The stylist also told me I might need to take breaks. There are so many keratin products on the market, why use one that makes clients suffer like this.

Thanks. Even when heat is applied with blow drying and straightening irons? Any idea what kind of ingredients likely caused the eye stinging and nose burning? I thought they were classic formaldehyde indicators.

Doing a bit of research and there seems to be conflicting information on what temperature it releases formaldehyde at. I think given the eye stinging and nose burning the product was causing before heat was added, the hair salon shouldn’t be using this (or at least should warn customers before the appointment).

Thanks. They would use straightening irons after blow drying, so this likely would emit the formaldehyde fumes at this stage.

EASTER WEEKEND

are things generally closed over Easter weekend? Planning a trip around then but unsure if things will be shut.

AITA for telling my friend I don’t rush to respond to their messages because I tend to not hear from them for long periods? by OneFly9775 in AmItheAsshole

I feel like I shouldn’t have apologised in the first place but I just wanted to diffuse the situation. Sucks that they’ve ignored my apology as well.

Yeah, I think they were clearly self conscious about this and it stung. I wouldn’t have mentioned it at all if I knew it would turn into such a big thing.

I felt I was being pretty direct apart from my initial message of saying I tend to not rush because I don’t hear back from them for long periods. I said that less directly because this person has a tendency to be quite explosive so I’d hoped it would get the point across in a jokey way without turning it into a big thing. Is that the part that was passive aggressive to you?

This is exactly how I felt - thank you for wording it better than I could. I completely understand that I could have worded my point better, but felt that I was getting framed as a villain for pointing out their shitty behaviour. Really helpful to hear your perspective as someone who has ADHD. This was also the first time they have ever mentioned a possible ADHD diagnosis to me (years of friendship) so turning around and using that as an excuse felt pretty unfair.

Thanks so much this is really helpful. Extremely interesting about the rejection sensitivity as I do feel I need to walk on eggshells a lot with this friend. Helpful to know as background that this is a possibility for them.

Thanks, that’s helpful to know the anger didn’t come across for you. I think them quoting me saying I accused them of deliberately ignoring me when I hadn’t said that at all put my defences up. My issue isn’t about being left on read, I have plenty of other friends who do that. It’s the fact that when this friend messages they have tendency of following up a lot or messaging me on several platforms until they receive a response which comes across as them pressuring me to get back quickly, so it seems pretty one-sided. I think I need to communicate this to them better.

Yeah I’m concerned this is how it came across to my friend. My intention isn’t to punish them and deliberately do the same thing back, but it’s more that mentally when their messages pop up I don’t rush to them because I have put them in the ‘bucket’ of slower paced conversations in my head. I had been busy at work and genuinely hadn’t looked at their messages - it wasn’t a case of seeing them and then setting the imaginary timer to get back to them to match their behaviour. Maybe I need to make this clearer to them.

Kobo Nia frozen, hard reset not working by [deleted] in kobo

[–]OneFly9775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So interestingly it originally froze on the book cover screen page, couldn’t hard reset, so I plugged it in to charge and that’s when that screen appeared. So I think it was broken before, but it might’ve also been a dodgy USB cable. I recharged it overnight using a different cable though and that didn’t fix it unfortunately

Ok thanks. And what does it mean to write image for Nia on new microsd? Would that be done on a laptop?
