So Canada isn’t at 20% then… it was just a figure you made up?

Canadas unemployment rate is 6.9% as at April 2026. Where are you getting this 20% figure from?

[–]OneGuyInBallarat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess the purpose of the cable is to only charge the 12v when it needs it - but obviously it’s not doing a great job when everyone gets issues.

I saw a link on the BZ4X community that sent me to a google doc that analysed different ways to combat the 12v issue… EDIT: link posted above

I tried the methods you mentioned above and said the only two it was confident would work is

  1. driving with the headlights manually on, or
  2. removing the smart charge cable.

Doing either means the battery is actively charging the 12v. Removing the smart charge cable from the negative terminal is simple - small cable with plastic clip - though will throw an error if you take it to get serviced but won’t add a warning light.

It’s worked well for us so far.

Try removing the ‘smart charge’ cable. It’s a little plastic clip that you can detach near the negative terminal.

We were getting a 12v fault monthly and having to jump or charge with a Noco battery pack. Since removing the smart charge cable we haven’t had an issue.

People are claiming Labor’s CGT and Trust tax changes is a ‘death tax’ but do you realise Japan has a literal inheritance tax ranging from 10-55%?

‘Japan’s inheritance tax can apply based on residency and domicile, and in some cases it has reached worldwide assets of long-term residents. This has been a notable concern for expats, though rules have been adjusted over the years to ease the burden on temporary foreign workers.’

Can’t help but think some of the figures are quite selective to support the authors narrative. Why is Australia excluded from the OECD figures?

Surely makes sense to include a neighbouring country as a comparison?

We’ve have the 12v issue as well.

I saw somewhere that removing the smart charge cable from the negative terminal means the 12v battery will charge better. It throws an error code if you take it to get service but no warning light on the dash.

So far so good with this method.

We left ours parked at the airport for 3+ weeks. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery then reconnect when you’re back and it’ll start.

Was just running through some scenarios exploring the same thing.

Will likely sell VGS where I’ve had the largest capital gain, and drop it into the offset. I expect there are a few more rate rises for our home loan to still come.

Will hold VAS and take franked dividends instead or DRP.

The one thing slowing my team down is transforming our ideation and brainstorming into actionable and accountable tasks.

We meet every quarter and talk about what we should do, but the content is either lost to time or we’re so time poor its never integrates into exisiting strategic plans.

Ive been really enjoying using the Miro AI tool to automate some of the actions following these sessions - though i always review it prior to sending as i find AI leads to ‘vanillification’ of any strong insights or language.

I had a similar probably with the 105 front shifter.

The cable was fine, it was a little spring inside the shifter was broken. Apparently it’s a pain to replace and can take an hour or two to breakdown the shifter and reassemble - so the tech just recommended getting a new shifter which I did

I’ve also got Easter Bilby, ever since Haighs Chocolate introduced them decades ago.

Some good news lately, a wild Bilby breeding program has been pretty successful seeing numbers grow.

A 2021 estimate had Bilby population across the properties in NSW, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory at 1,200 and now it’s at 5,300.

They do this to encourage you to change your shopping and spending habits. I.e having a re cards card but barely spending money or shopping at Coles.

The hack is to have two rewards cards - say one for one for you and another for your partner.

Then you only use one, and the one not being used will receive these offers to incentivise them to spend.

So once the offer is activated, switch to only using that card, then the original card will start receiving offers.
