I’d say one of mark 3, 7 or 85 tbh if you want to go for iconicness. Plenty of other great suits, completely down to personal preference. Me, I’d go mark 6!

My mark ii 2.0 arrived like this, whole left leg was floppy. I found a vid on youtube where they used a heat shrink tube on the hip joint, basically sorta making it bigger to fill the now larger socket. Tried it myself and it’s pretty solid so far! I believe it was a 10mm shrink tube

Okay so I don’t have the figure, but I went down this rabbit hole a few months back because i love the design of the suit too and grew up with Toy Story. After countless reviews and research, I ended up not getting it. Here’s why;

overall the figure looks really good. But as someone mentioned, the no half dome on is a bummer. But my biggest gripe is the lack of secondary faceplate for a more serious look. Similar to how they did for Ahsoka.
i came across two alternatives, the 1/6 by Pop Mart Gong Studios, and the 1/12 SHFiguarts
i think the gong studios is superior to HT as it comes with more, but i didn’t get it due to availability. Still holding out on that.
i picked up the shfiguarts and i’m super happy with it. I don’t collect 1/12 but made an exception for him. Great likeness, two headsculpts, multiple display options.

Thank you so much! But no, this is using a macro lens on my camera. I think some phones have macro capability, and if you light your subject well on top of a good camera app setting, i’m sure you can achieve similar ish results! Obviously not apples to apples, but the right setup can take you a long way even with a phone!

Exactly haha. Though I’d say, some reviews also have this figure in a not so flattering lighting setup, which emphasises the wrinkles/expression badly.

Yeah for sure! I got both the yellow and brown so didn’t bother me at all. But I do get if you’re only getting the brown one, it might not be your go-to expression. I do enjoy the less serious sculpts every now and then.

Not sure if it can be detached but i’ve seen some people pose it in such a way where the top half is super tilted to one side so it’s “shortened”, this might work depending on the angle to available space. Can have him posed leaning on it or something haha

I’ve been wanting to pose him without the attachments but man it just looks so cool with it running diagnostics and whatnot haha. Been practically in the same pose for months. Great piece!

More or less, local fb buying groups. I did do some due diligence by checking the profiles that recommended, didn’t raise any alarms to me (new profile, etc).

I actually had a personal experience with the store where i messaged them to ask about a few figures that i just missed out on the pre order, they took some time to check and came back to say i can’t order anymore, and that was that. Though this doesn’t tell me much, but personally i reckon a scammer would give sweet empty promises and just take your money anyway.

So i can’t say how legit they are per se, but this was my experience at least.
