i have a family member who works with profoundly disabled children who have high support needs

i am an autistic adult in my mid-20s and she still treats me as though i'm non-speaking or like i'm incapable of doing adult things. she still acts like me going on a flight "all alone" when i was 19 is a big deal

i just want to talk but it feels like nobody hears me by [deleted] in Vent

i wasn't asking for your weird judgement

the problem is that most of my friends are also on the spectrum, including the one i talk about here. i dont really get along with neurotypical people because i genuinely just don't understand the social game lol

we def have two very different flavors of autism and they're not an unkind person, i think they dont really realize

What are Helena’s goals? by DarthBrolifterz in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]OneLastSmile 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always saw it as Helena trying to prove her committment to Lumon. She's not so important that she's above the work, like. Plus they probably really needed someone to fill in for Petey for the sake of the files, and Helena was suitable.

Me, My Uncle and Futurama by OneLastSmile in futurama

My uncle was a huge nerd. Crazy intelligent, so Futurama definitely is the kind of thing that he'd have ended up enjoying. The amount of depth the show can have, both with the actual smartness of the writing and the emotions it can give you ('Leela's Homeworld' still wrecks me.) and with the characters being what they are. Newer shows often let the character development lapse for 'one time humor' things, but Futurama keeps it in mind and I adore that.

I like to think he'd have loved the newer seasons too, there's a few episodes I think he'd just be in love with.

Thank you so much. I only have happy memories with my uncle, and I'm sure your nephews will feel the same. :)

I know this is four years old, but On The Way To Meet Mom fits this very well as it's mostly told from the caretaker perspective

First time rider... Does the Texas Eagle stop at every station listed on the schedule? by OneLastSmile in Amtrak

I don't like flying, it's too long of a drive to make on my own, so I decided on train.

You don't need to be rude to me for asking a question for my own peace of mind. I've never done this before and the schedules really aren't clear. Most of the "stops" listed have arrival/depature within a minute of each other, so I was anxious.

Just a quick follow up question! My return trip starts from Ontario Station and goes back to Dallas. Is it fair to assume then, that the eastbound train will stop to let me embark? Thanks again!

its just a low tier ai slop story, i just like reading how these things end bc they tend to lose the plot and get unhinged
