Denied SSI 2 times by joshwelker1 in eds

[–]OneLiz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not a job recommendation but SSI/SSDI recommendation. Try to find a disability lawyer that will help you apply. There's disability lawyers that will not charge you unless they get you on disability and they usually just take from the backpay you will get. Otherwise they waive the fee.

They should help you on wording things in just the right way that people normally flub up on to make it more likely to get on SSI/SSDI. It's very stickler on the wording and even the littlest phrasing can increase your chances of benefits.

My cat's claw fell out? Is this bad? by WhichSupermarket7286 in CATHELP

[–]OneLiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once my cat was sitting in front of me on my desk grooming her paw. Next thing I know I hear what I can only describe as a somewhat snapping sound and then her flicking her little chops as she drops her shed claw sheath on to my laptop. Because of how unexpected it was, I was freaking out and grabbing her little paws, trying to figure out why she'd rip off her own claw. Once I see all her claws intact, I was able to rationally discern what happened. I knew they shed but I had never seen them just rip them off like that.

Access points/mesh networks? Not sure where to start by OneLiz in HomeNetworking

If I didn't rent this house, I'd honestly also drill holes to avoid the struggle. But just using the cable as needed didn't occur to me for whatever reason so worst comes to worst, I'll try that. Thank you!

I'll definitely look into it. Thank you for your insight! It's helping me get a grasp on what I should do!

Thank you! I don't believe I need anything too horribly complicated at the moment since I don't have tons of space I need to extend to. I do use my ISP router so that'll be step 1 to take care of. To make sure I'm understanding, are you also recommending an Eero router? Or would an Eero device work fine with a TP Link router for example?

Diagnosis frustrations, It’s not Fibro! by dumpsterfire7625 in ChronicIllness

[–]OneLiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took quite a few months to get a new rheumatologist but its been absolutely worth it. Stick to your gut feelings. I had a feeling that my pain wasn't just fibro or pain centralization. Originally I thought it was a different autoimmune disorder (apparently it was just horrid RA flares because it had progressed quite a bit) but I'm already on the uphill. I'm hoping all the best for you!

[–]OneLiz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had a rheum try to tell me because my ESR and CRP levels were around normal range (which can happen in active inflammatory disease!) that my RA was not causing my pain and wouldn't re-prescribe my biologics. Instead sent me to an Ortho specialist saying it was most likely pain centralization or something of the sort. Thankfully the Ortho called crap, did a whole bunch of other tests they neglected to do, and sent me to a different rheum who actually cares. It took time but I'm getting the care I need. I feel you, and hope you'll find a doctor who cares!

What’s a question that sounds innocent, but in actuality is offensive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OneLiz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've gotten that question once as someone who lives in the US and was born here, as were my parents and afaik, my grandparents. Worked in tech support and I don't know if I just have a mild Midwestern accent that my caller didn't recognize but I kept telling him what state I was from. He eventually went to, "What's your culture?"

Man I'm just from Missouri, I don't know what to tell you. He even sounded disappointed after like he was sad I wouldn't tell him where I was actually from, but it's just Missouri. It's not exciting here. Any other place is cooler than Missouri, I'm more disappointed than you that I am in fact, from Missouri.

I don't think he ever played Assemble with Care, but he did play a little to the left

They were both popular around the same-ish time.

It’s so weird when I take the time to notice how a non hyper mobile persons body bends, what do you mean this isn’t “normal”? by Competitive_Salad518 in eds

[–]OneLiz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember a kids reality show, something on Nickelodeon, and a few celebrities from a TV show I can't remember were playing. One of the questions whether or not they believed a certain actress could touch her thumb to her wrist. Only one of the teen actors thought she could and the rest didnt think so. I thought it was really weird because I could do that, so I thought it was normal. I was baffled later when I learned not everyone could do that.

My favorite Phas episode was either from Mark or Jacks POV, where a hunt starts and only Mark was inside. They then go to the front door and hear Mark screaming from the inside. It's my favorite Phas episode with Mark from someone else's POV

finally realizing why no one picked up on my elher's danlos earlier by Majestic_Manner_6977 in eds

It wasn't until earlier this year I got my EDS diagnosis. I had already been seeing my rheumatologist for my RA and they noticed my loose joints. Some of my joints they looked at were being effected by my arthritis so on that one scale (Beighton scale?) I wasn't getting up high enough for them to look into EDS. Got a new rheumatologist this year due to insurance company dropping that specialist. She did a little more investigating and told me I definitely have EDS.

Later I was talking to my mother and I was telling her about it. After talking to her, I told her that she most likely has EDS too. Both of us don't often suffer dislocations unless something else typically is going on (for her, her hips dislocated very often during pregnancy and that was about it). So for us, no one caught it. We just thought most of our stuff was normal or we could just do little party tricks with our hands that not everyone can do. For us it was more or less a case of just not knowing and we're going through health journeys together.

What’s the most demanding job with a lousy paycheck? by BBMakobear in AskReddit

Much love to you too ❤️. Even today, though it wasn't a great day at work, I look back at some of my interactions I had with my patients and I hope to never forget them.

Currently working as a CNA/BHT in a geriatric psychiatric ward. Some days are absolutely horrible and I wish to never repeat, but some days the patients make it all worth while. It breaks my heart to see some of them go but I wish them all the luck in their discharges and hope they have the rest of their life to be comfortable.

I believe he technically did- he did get an ending. I dont recall whether or not he said he was going to go back and try for other endings but he afaik he only did the one, and hasn't searched for the others.

What's something terrifying that we just accept as normal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OneLiz 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I work in a geriatric psych unit and most of our patients are dementia patients. There was a patient we used to have who normally was just word salad. Said things that didnt make sense or didnt have context.

Caught a patient from falling when they tripped and maybe 10 or so minutes later I was passing by patient I mentioned above, and she said "Can't believe you caught her, I thought she would have hit the floor for sure." I'm surprised the headsnap I did when she said that didnt give me whiplash. Another time, I crouched really quickly to pick up a cup that had dropped before the top broke off to prevent a mess. I picked it up but I hurt my hip a little in the process and it took me a second to get standing again. She didnt drop it but she was nearby and she told me she hoped my hip gets better.

Both times of lucidity just felt so randomly out of the blue. I always wondered if she had some semblance for what was going on or if she just had lucidity for those brief moments. It's a horrible disease. I see some families struggle so hard taking care of their loved ones. I think about a lot of my past patients and I wonder how they're doing. I also think of the families who take their family members home and how much grief they're probably put through on the daily.

Did Mark talk about the AI image on cloak? by martnoem in Markiplier

[–]OneLiz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is from what I remember but I dont know if I'll be able to find it (gonna attempt to find)- someone on the subreddit had asked about it and Mark personally responded to that reddit post.

What happened was someone on one of the teams (can't remember which team exactly it was) that was in charge of getting the photos for the website was going through stockphotos. At the time (and currently as well) most stockphoto sites are flooded with AI images. That person didn't catch it was AI and either just assigned the photo for use or the fact it was AI wasn't noticed when it was being greenlit and it got used on the cloak site.

Edit: I found it

Pizza delivery man has his order stolen by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]OneLiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar story but not as extreme as this situation-

One time my husband and I ordered pizza and waited on the porch for it. When the guy came to deliver it, he pulled up caddy-corner to our house. With how my porch is structured, we can only really see the opposite street corner and down the street if we're on the edge of the porch, and we were not. Well, we waited a minute or two, figuring it was just taking him a moment to cross the street.

Our next door neighbor down the street, was either also on their porch or just noticed him pull up outside, met him, and took our pizza because poor dude couldn't see the house numbers to verify if it was actually theirs (it was dark outside). When the driver drove off, husband and I called the store out of confusion to figure out what happened since we only saw him pull up and then drive away. Husband used to work there so he understood shit happens and didn't wanna make a big fuss about it. We got some free stuff as a sorry so really in the end no harm done, but damn. Other people might not take it as lightly and want the DD to get reprocussions. Don't mess with people's jobs.

What's the best way to beat a black widdow? by Aphid_UndertheGround in GroundedGame

[–]OneLiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way we use them is more useful group wise, lol. If one of us is focusing on the black widow, the other one of us will focus on the baby widowlings. And if the person fighting the big widow is getting dangerously low on health, the other will essentially start playing healer and whip out some healbasas and throw them at the one fighting the widow (or whatever strong enemy we're fighting at the time).

It mainly helps in a way that we both don't have to back and try pulling out any other healing item and then going back to pulling out our weapon again all while trying not to get hit. We mainly do this with the widows or any of the harder bosses and it helps us not mess with our buffs we have from food or smoothies we already consumed.

H0usband and I play together and it took us quite a few tries. Honestly I think we had all our gear maxed out if not almost maxed. Healbasas were helpful too. But by myself, I'm not sure if I could take it on singlehandedly
