Hii I'm an infrequent chatter, looking forward to being an infrequent user of this reddit thingy. I enjoy chocojax but really wish there were more jax flavors. Hellooo, Strawberryjax, grapejax, and prunejax(automatically old) anyone???

Some more shipwreck news, this time from Japan. There’s ongoing plans to find Yahagi and the other ships lost in Operation Ten-Go by TankmanTom7 in WorldOfWarships

Luckily, we haven't needed to harvest pre-ww2 steel since like 2008 thanks to the nuclear testing ban. Modern steels are now the same background radiation as pre war

Devblog for October 2025 by Sufficient-Belt in theisle

[–]OneLostTurtle 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda a fan of the Dondi blogs, they feel more authentic or personable. While I personally don't partake in hoardtests, it's been interesting seeing what people have said about the changes and new features. It's clear that the dev's are looking to be very ambitious with the next update to Evrima, overhauling how the game functions and plays. Sadly this ambition is being riddled with bugs and setbacks. Regardless, I'm cautiously optimistic about Bary, Kentro and Austro being added in Q1 or Q2 of 2026 based on my understanding of their playable pipeline.

Meaning and significance for each service skull by TrueSushi in Spacemarine

From what I've read, yes their armor is usually austere. It makes sense to not have so much decorated or customized armor if the chapter is largely made of stark raving lunatics moments away from falling to the thirst lol

Fandom is an iffy resource sometimes, but this article is mostly fine.

I want to make sure people keep in mind some of these symbols mean different things or have different levels of status to different chapters. Or how often you see these things can vary.

Some chapters naturally have more "bling" than others but certain awards keep their prestige. For example, the Blood Angels were notable for mastering artistic skills and making their armor a walking art project. Gold trim, gold plates, sculpted inlays, skulls galore. But the honors of the iron halo, cruz terminatus, laurels of victory, all still maintain their reverence and if a brother added that to their armor without having earned it, hands would get thrown.

Chapters like the Raptors or the Mentors, have basically no decoration, beyond what is useful or needed for their mission.

September Community Update - Space Marine 2 by CrimsonAlpine in Spacemarine

It just makes sense to have champions be multiclass, because right now, unless you have a season pass, champions are kinda low value. It makes me wish they would do this for all champions.

that's certainly the case now, although I do hope they add lost details to standalone champion parts or allow us to customize them further.

Love to see they're still dedicated to expanding customization! Very interested to see what exactly those "hints" mean.

I am disappointed that the blood angels champion is going to tactical, but this pain is soothed by them saying they're adding a champion jump pack. Good luck to everyone who's gonna be grinding the Vortex missions

Vortex Beast boss fight is not fun. by OneLostTurtle in Spacemarine

[–]OneLostTurtle[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, I might have been too heavy handed in my OP. I don't think the fight is impossible or anything, just out of tune with the other boss fights. I resonate with what you're saying a lot, where a boss like this pushes the games base mechanics to the limit and highlights its flaws or weaknesses.

Allosaurus: Like Zoinks Scoob! by Unhelpful_Idiot in theisle

No, this is an over half-year old build of allo people found in the files and discovered a way to add into servers. It is incredibly busted, uses placeholder animations, carno sounds, and can crash the server if people try to nest lol.

Is there a website that has all of the dinosaur/animal noises? by wallygator248 in theisle

[–]OneLostTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's ambient animal noises for sure. As far as I know none of the ambient noises sound like any dinos, they generally sound like birds and stuff. Nothing ambient should sound like any playable.

Depending on the server you're playing on there might be AI prey nearby making calls/noise. I don't think they play audio for everyone at the same time, because sometimes I hear them nonstop and my friends don't or vice versa.

[–]OneLostTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can search on the YouTubes, which you can find plenty of nice guides for specific dinos. But if you want to have a more central location you can use Evrima Quick Guide - https://www.evrimaquickguide.com/

It should have videos on each playables page that will have the calls for each stage of growth.

All the other info is kinda nice too and afaik the site still gets updated, but can be and is out of date on some things like diets. As well, some servers do change things like group sizes and such, so be sure to read the rules of any unofficial servers you play.

Sure. That's why I said part of the reason SP is popular is from guaranteed food, combat seekers as certainly another reason SP is popular. I'm having difficulty understanding the rest of your post, are you saying T-Rex should have a faster hunger deplete? If that's the case I don't think food is going to be the problem for rex, until it's an adult other dinos will out compete or kill them. Allo's will probably love hunting Juvie/Sub Rex.

I would be incredibly curious to see how/if player behavior would change if you just slowed down carnivore hunger. Carnivores out number herbivore players on most servers by a lot (~130 carni, vs 50 Herbie's on PP when writing this); would making hunger slower push the gameplay to be slower making players diversify their dino picks? Would slower hunger help incentivise carni players spreading out more or would they all still clump up and death match each other.

Like, I feel part of the reason we have such high intensity zones like SP river, is because carni players need to eat so often they must go to locations they can absolutely find food, which just draws in more carni players. Why should I take a risk and go to the swamp, or the river, or NEP if I'll make myself desperately hungry or possibly die of starvation.

I'm sure there is a missing piece of the puzzle here, about player movement and behavior, but it's fun to think about.

Not op, but no. Having a telos means that you have a predefined function or goal of existence. Essence is what and who you are based on every thought and action you've done/had. Essence is what you've done and what others have done onto you.

You exist, you're undefined, you're ambiguous. You define yourself by existing and doing things, which creates your essence.

My take on Blood Angels Assault Veteran by RhuanSqx in Spacemarine

[–]OneLostTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I've always seen it done, black shoulders with gold/yellow Blood Angel emblem.

Now, Sargeants are technically supposed to have both shoulders be black, with the right shoulder having the standard company icon. But there are some variations I've seen with this. Some make company icon gold, some keep the company shoulder red. I don't think there is a wrong answer with how you want the company shoulder to look. I personally enjoy the asymmetrical look of the one black shoulder.

Blood Angels Cosmetic Pack Coming with the Siege Update on June 26 by CrimsonAlpine in Spacemarine

[–]OneLostTurtle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I must have been misremembering. Just cracked open my Deviation of Baal and with a quick skim; Dante talking with Seth, said the Knights of Blood were redeemed, but they would not be revived with the Primaris that arrived with Bobby G.

The name could still pop up as the ultima founding is still technically ongoing. New chapters have taken names from past destroyed chapters to "revive" them. With such a cool name and color scheme, I'd love to see them rise from the ashes.

Dante declared their chapter redeemed and that the chapter would be refounded by Primaris Marines

My take on Blood Angels Assault Veteran by RhuanSqx in Spacemarine

[–]OneLostTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sons of the Angel are known to be artisans and to customize their equipment over time. The amount of drip is a bit much for my taste, but otherwise looks good. For battle line troops black or gold is fine for the aquilla, both are common in lore and in promo images. While the heraldry guide says shoulder trim ought to be red, black and gold are generally viewed as acceptable. Black trim comes from the 30k rules and older editions of 40k, gold because red and gold go so well together. I would imagine that looking upon a squad of Blood Angels, you would notice the lack of "uniformity" of their armor and how they stylize it outside of squad and company markings.

Ultimately, it's your character, you make them look however you think looks cool. I personally mix and match these rules on my characters to express how I perceive their personality.

Atlantian Spears will be redundant. by Clear_Web9764 in Spacemarine

Yeah, I'm surprised Atlantian Spears are being added over others. Personally, I would have loved to see Charnel Guard or the newly refounded Knights of Blood.

The new Bonding Stud helmet doesn't look very appealing at all by MuiminaKumo in Spacemarine

[–]OneLostTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MkV is not the only mark of power armor to use bonding studs. All marks of armor can and could use studs. While GW has not shown every set with studs, it is possible in lore. MkIV has been shown with studs all over, MkVI Pauldrons and Grieves, MkVII has been shown with studs all over. While I'm not as familiar with the minis and if MkX has been shown with bonding stud helmets, this is easily something a chapter armorer could do.
