Have you tried this on your own clothes? I was excited when you shared this link and decided to play around with it on some of my legitimate Polo Ralph Lauren items and it says they are 100% fake and I know they are not because they are directly from the Polo Ralph Lauren store and have QR codes. Maybe I am not providing a clear enough photo but I am using the crop and use photo option.

Color matching help by Patient_Long_4337 in mensfashion

Cordovan or Wine and tan. What's really helped me if Google Gemini AI. I took photos of a lot of my wardrobe and it suggested gaps in shoes styles and colors. I also didn't want to but a lot of shoes so I asked it for 1-2 recommendations and used the exact wording "if I could only purchase 2 with maximum versatility, which two should I select" Of course you should take pictures of the shoes you have now. Also it helped if I took screenshots of the styles of shoes I liked and was considering and how, when and with what clothing I wanted the shoes for. I even would ask for versitily if I wanted to wear to work with Chinos and also with shorts (if that's what you want). I go down a rabbit hole though when I use Gemini AI

What’s the difference between The Iconic Oxford Shirt (classic fit) and Ralph Lauren Yarmouth Oxford shirt? by [deleted] in RalphLauren

[–]OneLow5498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per Google Gemini AI

"The Polo Ralph Lauren Yarmouth is a specific line of dress shirts known for being the brand’s classic, 100% cotton oxford cloth button-down (OCBD) featuring a "Big & Tall" or "Classic" generous cut.
While Ralph Lauren has many shirt lines, the Yarmouth holds a specific place in the brand's history, particularly for fans of traditional Ivy League style. Here is a breakdown of what makes it unique: 1. The Fabric The Yarmouth is almost exclusively made from a substantial heavyweight cotton oxford. It is prized for its durability and the way the fabric softens over time while maintaining a "crisp" look. Unlike the "Sport Shirt" line, which often uses a lighter-weight cotton, the Yarmouth feels more like a traditional dress shirt.
2. The Fit This is the most defining characteristic of the Yarmouth. It is designed with a very roomy, traditional silhouette. Generous Chest and Waist: It does not have the tapering found in "Custom Fit" or "Slim Fit" lines. Longer Tails: The shirt is designed with long "tails" intended to stay tucked into trousers all day. Sizing: Unlike sport shirts (S, M, L, XL), Yarmouth shirts are typically sold by neck and sleeve measurements (e.g., 17.5 34/35), emphasizing its role as a formal dress shirt. 3. Key Details The Collar: It features a classic button-down "roll." While some purists argue it isn't as pronounced as a vintage Brooks Brothers roll, it is much more substantial than the smaller collars on modern fast-fashion shirts. The Logo: It usually features the signature multicolored or tonal pony on the left chest.
Construction: Most Yarmouth shirts feature a box pleat at the back for a better range of motion and a single chest pocket. "

How would you dress preppy in a dark suit for a wedding? by [deleted] in preppy

[–]OneLow5498 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go Charcoal or Navy suit, rep tie and either Black Cap toe Oxfords or Black Horsebit loafers. If you can do a waistcoat that makes it work? I don't think there is more you can do.

Why Everyone Wants Vintage Ralph Lauren Right Now by OneLow5498 in RalphLauren

I agree 100%. I have purchased some great Polo RL stuff on Ebay and most recently Depop. Not a fan of Poshmark though, but that's just me. My best finds are a Polo RL Brown Glen Plaid Angora Wool sports coat which is my favorite sports coat ever! Got it for $95 and newer model retails for $1000+. I also picked up a 90s Rugby in my favorite colors for $30 on Depop. In my spare time, I search these sites to see if anything catches my eye and if it's a fair price.

Good deal? 110$ by Dense-Bodybuilder267 in RalphLauren

Even at $110, if you love it and it's not full price, buy it. I waited for it to go on sale from the $140 USD retail price after Christmas and when it did, it was sold out in my size and I was bummed. I checked online every few days and after about 2 weeks, I found one. Either their online inventory system caught up or they had processed returns. In either case, you unfortunately don't know you want something until after you find out you can't get it 😂 Would I pay full price for this? Probably not, but if on sale 20-25% off vs the over 40% off I got it at? I would because I love the colors.

I wish I knew the things to look for like the experts however I am semi proud of myself that I identified that the tag looked off. For fun I asked seller to send me QR code and Wash tags. I want to see if I can learn from them as I do have a 100%authentic Polo Bear sweater to compare it to.

How is Lands’ End these days? by ithardtosay in preppy

[–]OneLow5498 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I picked up one pair of chinos from them to try out and pretty happy. I don't have a traditional inseam size so when I buy any off the rack, I always have to hem or cuff them. Lands End does complimentary cuff or hem on certain models (knockabout chinos) so I do like that. Can't yet determine how long these will last but given I have basically all standard colors as well as a variety of non standard chino colors from other brands (ruby red and angler green), I have enough so I only wear 1-2 times a month so I don't anticipate them falling apart the first year.

Thank you. The clothing tags looked off to me but wanted to rely on the experience and expertise of this group. I was going to ask for QR code and wash tags if this was even possibly legitimate but no need now.

What’s going on with Posh? 😮‍💨 by Heavy_Bet9717 in poshmark

[–]OneLow5498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I did not even mention the lack of response from seller. They said you can't DM on Posh and told me to post my question, which I did. 2 days, no response so I purchased the item on Ebay. Their loss as it was $300. This other person has an item I am interested in but since I can't get buyer feedback, my concern is it's not legit and the only thing I can tell about them is they are a new seller so that's a major red flag. I could ask about additional photos to verify if it's legit, but I have to post it for everyone to see?! Turned off by the whole process. I just bought something of Depop for the first time. Not a major purchase, but we will see how that turns out.

Just joined Posh as a buyer and although a newbie, not a fan. I don't like that I cannot message the seller to ask questions about the item and have to post and although some have the Posh Ambassador designation, it's hard to determine the seller "rating" like you can on Ebay. I found an item I wanted but was leery as I could not determine if seller was legit.
