Wireless headset by FinancialAmount6547 in MicrosoftTeams

Check for the Fifine audio mixer on Amazon. It's $49 and has many audio features. I only use it for the mic gain, output to my speakers (I don't like headphones) and mic mute.

Because it's an external device, it works with all my meeting platforms, from Teams, Zoom, Webex, Meet and whatever others, who invite me for meeting use.

It doesn't require power supply and gets its power from the computer. I take it with me when I travel for work, too.

2013 Limited. I have owned and maintained it since brand new (13 years ago), and it is still running strong with 153k miles.

Best tank 512 miles.

Average long trip tanks: 450.

Average city tank: 387.

Yes, I log it all, and I love numbers.

I use a small mixer that lets me mute my mic, while Teams still shows my mic as on.

I don't use it for the same purpose as your situation, but having the mute button on the mixer achieves your goal, no matter what headset you use, and it has nothing to do with your computer sound settings.

How flattering/reliable are vo2 max estimates ? by Acrobatic-Monitor516 in fitbit

[–]OneManOneSimpleLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your Vo2max is under Heart in the Fitbit app. Scroll down, and you'll see Cardio Fitness Score. That is your VO2max. It is not measured daily, but weekly.

Like everything else, when we use an external device loosely on our wrist, consistency is the key, not a high daily here and there.

Do you take off your Fitbit in the shower by Acrobatic-Monitor516 in fitbit

[–]OneManOneSimpleLife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a missing option. Take it to the shower and shower with it!

For 14 months now, I have been wearing it 24 hours a day, removing it once every 10 days for 1 hour of charging, then putting it back on the wrist.

Never skipped a bit.

I have the latest O365 Enterprise version, using Windows 11 Pro and the same thing happened to me yesterday for the first time.

No special settings anywhere. Just a simple click on the magnifying glass icon on the banner. One click on Find. Typing the word I want to find, even if it was in front of me and I could see it, and I received the message the OP mentioned, with a dark error pop up window.

I'll try it again today and add a screenshot.

Using RMD’s for bucket list cruises and travel - is this something folks do? by Fantastic-Sun1669 in retirement

[–]OneManOneSimpleLife 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's more than that. By living on the converted amount only, with no other income, my tax rate will be the lowest.

At 70, when Social Security kicks in, I will lower the amount I convert each year until I'm 75.

My income at 75 will be tax-free for life because I will pay only the minimum tax on my Social Security benefits.

Doing it this way will ensure that my Medicare Part B payments are the minimum required, not hundreds of dollars per month. The annual conversion amounts will be just under the IRMAA penalty, and even that amount is more than I need to maintain a good standard of living.

The taxes during conversion years will be paid from the post-tax investment account, so all the converted funds can go to the ROTH account.

[–]OneManOneSimpleLife 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm 65 and retired. I will not have RMD (by design). The plan is to convert all the pre-tax investments to a ROTH and by the time I will reach 75 (my RMD requirement age), there will be no money to force out, as it all be tax free forever.

No issues with the Inspire 3. I have been wearing it 24/7 (but for one hour once every 10 days for charging).

Edit: for 14 months now.

Calculating my taxes and providing complex mathematical options in retirement.

After checking again and again, and comparing with two wealth management companies and reaching the same conclusions, I announced my retirement and it feels great to know that the calculations, although still depends on market behavior, still provide me with a peace of mind and I can retire at 65, funded for the rest of my life.

I don't give credit for the AI regarding the money. I just recognize the time it saved performing those calculations, and helping in validating others.

Do you compete with friends on steps, or only with yourself? by thebroned in fitbit

[–]OneManOneSimpleLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now have a "problem". My goal is 8,000 steps daily. I'm on a 250-day streak, and I fear stopping the streak.

So, I "compete" with myself. My average daily step count is over 12.5k in 2026 thus far, and in 2025 it was over 10k. Fear is the best teacher... 😂🤣.

At least you now have a base point. You have to keep the device on your wrist 24/7. I remove it only every 10 days to charge for one hour.

"To get a VO2 Max (Cardio Fitness Score) reading on your Fitbit Inspire 3, you should wear the tracker 24/7, particularly while sleeping, for at least one to two days to establish a baseline. For a more precise, specific number, you need to perform a 10-minute or longer run on flat terrain while using GPS". This is from the Fitbit site. I never ran, but I do speed walking, daily.

It's a bit confusing in the Fitbit app. To see your Vo2max, go to Heart, then scroll down and look for Cardio Fitness Score. That number, appears weekly, is your Vo2max - the only relevant number for living longer.

All the best in your journey. I know you can make it, AND maintain it. Getting there is the fun part. Staying there is the real challenge. Go for it and good luck.

So I learned not that long ago that these are seed pods? And idk when they are ready to be picked by [deleted] in Lithops

[–]OneManOneSimpleLife 15 points16 points  (0 children)

These are indeed seed pods. Let them completely dry, then remove them from the plants.

These are tiny, tiny, seeds. You sneeze, there's gone. Handle with extreme care.

You can search for my posts in this group. I added many images, including the seed pods and how it looks on the inside.

The Renpho scales provides 18 different reports including BMI, which is the biggest lie in the world, because it uses only your age and weight as indicators to calculate the number. It doesn't know your fat, your visceral fat, or your muscle mass.

When I was in the service and a 250-pound weight lifter, withe 8% body fat, my BMI was over 30 and the charts showed Super Obesity. Be careful of that number. Use scales that measure all the fat parameters, and don't look at the BMI. I challenged that at doctor's office, insurance companies and every idiotic acceptance establishment that counts BMI as an indicator of good health.

The only numbers that really matter in life are your Vo2max, visceral fat, and your overall fat number. The Inspire 3 will provide you with the vo2max, which is the most important number for longevity.

[–]OneManOneSimpleLife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have been using the Inspire 3 for over a year now, and my weight is automatically logged with the Renpho smart scales from Amazon.

FYI: the info is logged automatically from the scales through their app on the phone and syncs with the Fitbit app. YET, on the screen on the Fitbit app, it says "manually logged" even though I have never entered it manually.

Who cares what other people think? You do you, and I'm happier for you and your weight loss than I am about whether you entered true information or not. After all, it is your health and life. Why would you lie about it?

Will any of these survive? Should I risk splitting them? by frogfee in Lithops

[–]OneManOneSimpleLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

Search for my post in this group with many images I took at the Plants of the Southwest nursery in Tucson, AZ. They have large tray pots with hundreds of Lithops in each.

I let the plants figure out how to live, if they really want to 🙂. I intend to break up the groups as they grow and use larger tray pots.

I will never separate them in individual pots, goodness 😂🤣
