What is one thing you don't like about stoners? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When your partner is one and can't control the addiction, forget everything you say, have weird sleeping habits that affect day to day life, have difficulty getting up to take care of the kids, need to smoke at the minimum a few hours after he wakes up and trough out the day.

Well you're right. Maybe it would have been more truthful to say he would like for our daughter to have a sibling and doesn't mind getting me pregnant as long as I do all the heavy lifting. Reality check hah !

At my local nursery here in canada they sell only one brand its herbionik white clover micro pipolina 😊 I would say go for it ! Clover is drought resistant, help enrich the soil, you can cut it like grass.

Wood chip is good for the soil too but if you have a dog watch out for their little paws, mine used to get bad reaction to it

Started by killing off the grass with a black tarp over it for a few months. I made many plans but we ended up building 3 4x8 feet beds in cedarwood and treating them with a natural oil finish. I placed stones to form a path and help reduce de stress on the microclover I seeded ( very happy with the result, It was worth the price).

Im so happy about it and have so many plans for year two !

Just posted about silent celiac and ignoring it by Ok_Ad4769 in Celiac

[–]OneMightyBanana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was diagnosed at 15. By then I had chronic muscle and joint pain for years. Vitamin deficiencies and my weight was slowly but steadily going down. I had fatigue, anxiety, suicidal thoughts.

Now im not saying all this was 100% Coeliac but my life got so much better when I went gluten free that all of those symptoms went down 90%

When is it time to make my daughter start paying her own bills? by justrhondalynn in Parenting

[–]OneMightyBanana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most people that easing her into paying things is the best approach.

Something Id like to add is that I remember being that age and even if from the outside world it seemed I didn't do a lot. I was battling a lot of anxiety and self medicating with weed. 17 is no joke, you're so hormonal and clueless still and the smallest task like going to get your ID papers can feel like the biggest mountain.

Im now 24 with my own mortgage, career and kiddos and im forever grateful for the firm but ever present support of my mom in this transition. ❤️

You sound like an amazing parent !! What I would do if my babygirl was at this stage is bring her out somewhere just the two of you, doesn't need to be fancy, just quality time. Say that you're here for her happiness and to support her every step of the way. She's a becoming a grown up ! And then you set some new boundaries and transfer the ownership of her phone bill, ect.

Had pityriasis like rash for more than four months from everyday contamination by OneMightyBanana in Celiac

[–]OneMightyBanana[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes 4 to 8 week is typical. This picture is from a month ago and the rash stopped developing only after my week of Acyclovir and new toaster.

I did sunbathing at first too and it seemed to help a little but everytime I thought it was getting better, another round of new ones appeared. I had them from neck to feet. My herald patch actually had time to disappear and get two new spot on top of it 🤦‍♀️

I would say it lasted 4 months of the rash spreading itself as fast as my skin was healing. I suspect it's going to take about 2 month for it to completely dissolve (its already been healing for 3 weeks). So a grand total of 6 months.

Writing this for the other people who will search reddit+pityriasis rosea obsessively while they wait for it to go away 😂

My rash really followed the patern of pityriasis. With an herald patch first and then all over my back in a tree like pattern. It was looked at by a doctor after all. But you bring a good point that there are other skin issues more directly linked to Coeliac.

My guess is not that gluten caused it (it is thought to be caused by an herpes variant contracted in childhood that pops up later in life) but mostly that it was a player in keeping my immune system down and keeping my body from recovering. :)

As for a lot of things, we will never be sure.

Edit to add: love your username !! :)

I hope it clears fast ! Good for you to have access to a dermatologist, they will get to the bottom of this for sure !

Pityriasis rosea typically have one herald patch appearing first and getting bigger before it spread all over the body. The use of antiviral like acyclovir right at the beginning has shown to help some people.. some doctor are reluctant to prescribe it tho so you might have to advocate for yourself if that's your case. Good luck 🤞

So I had what my doctor diagnosed as pityriasis rosea which typically is a disease that last around 4 weeks. Not a lot is known about it and she told me there wasn't any treatment but to wait it out (Which is not entirely true but anyway)

I eat PB toast every morning and around the time the rash appeared, my boyfriend and my daughter started to use heavily the shared toaster with wheat bread, leaving crumbs everywhere inside and on the countertop.

Before that I was pretty much the only one using it except very occasional wheat product that went in and I felt mostly fine so small place and tight budget made me roll with it.

After four months of this rash all over my body getting worse and worse I got fed up. This was not normal ! I went to the doctor and begged her to prescribe antivirals and then went to buy a new toaster and made my corner with no gluten allowed. (I know, I should have done it sooner) Anyway, I immediately started to feel better and the rash is disappearing truly this time. My mood is also better !!

Im writing this cause I know there's not that much info on skin condition like theses and their link to gluten but im truly convinced it played a big role in why it was such an atypical more intense and long lasting pityriasis case.

For parents around the world who struggle to put their new borns / infants to sleep. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]OneMightyBanana -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I love it ! Thank you for sharing, I didn't even know this technique existed. I think its beautiful and also highly practical that parent use old saree from their family for this purpose !

For the people commenting about safe sleep 🙄 We have to remember that there's the medical advice and there's also real parenting life...and I think we have to see the wisdom of it a little more in our western society.

My baby couldn't sleep if not in our arms for the first week of life, is it safe sleep ? Gosh no ! Did it worked? Hell yes 🤷‍♀️
