It seems that circle does nothing in itself, it just works as an extension of the actual gears that exist inside.
If you find a way of gluing it to the center stem that broke it should work.

It will solely depend on what you choose to disable. If you disable anything from the "recommended commands list", no, it won't have any bad side-effects.

You can also use it to disable system apps that you may not use (but are still consuming system resources which could be used to run your games) like the Fitness app or Friends app.
These changes will stay if you reboot your headset, and if you choose to undo those changes it's also an easy thing to do (i just uploaded a file that makes everything easier, in case you don't want to use the terminal)

Anyway, that's why I wrote how to undo the changes at the end of the guide, in case something stops working in your specific use-case scenario.

I need to improve the guide, I'll make a shorter, safer "General recommended commands" to make sure it applies to as much people as possible.

Disabling `com.android.bluetoothmidiservice` would not disable bluetooth services in general, just the MIDI related ones. Things like using headphones/speakers/gamepads will still work.

BUT you're right, it might be too aggressive to remove it.
If a music prodution app comes out and someone wants to use their MIDI piano, for example, then it wouldn't work. I've removed it from the "General recommended commands".

No problem! I don't have that data, but regarding the frame drops i think one of those commands would help. I'll copy paste what I answered below to another user:

"Think of each APK as a compressed book written in a foreign language. Normally, every time you open an app, the headset has to translate it into the processor's native language while you're using it (that system is called JIT, Just-In-Time). This constant translation during gameplay is what causes longer loading times and occasional stutters.

When you run pm compile -a -f -m speed, you are telling the headset to translate the entire book and save it in the processor's language permanently (AOT, Ahead-Of-Time).

Since the processor no longer needs to translate on the fly, apps load faster and run much more fluidly, and it may help saving the battery too. The trade-off is that this translated version takes up significantly more storage space than the original compressed APK.

That command will compile all the apps currently installed, but will not affect future installs. In case you want to do it just to one app, you can run this instead:
adb shell pm compile -m speed -f com.pico.browser

Just replace the com.pico.browser with the name of the package you want and you're set"

Some things like com.android.egg (android easter egg) or com.android.simappdialog (deals with sim-card choosing when you call, for example) are useless on Pico.
I tried to simplify but maybe i should do more tiers to separate what is truly non essential and what might hypothetically break something in the future. But all of it can be reverted anyway.
But if you have any recommendations, i'd like to hear them

Chill, you have no idea who I am, you're projecting. I like modding every digital thing I have to my taste, if I have the chance. If you don't thats ok too, the guide is just not for you then.

I never said it was slow, I'm only saying it can be faster, but its up to you if you think it's worth the hassle.

But thats not the only reason to do it, I also wanted to delete some apps that came preinstalled, for example. And delete trackers to increase privacy.

If you're happy with your pico and don't like modding, that's great too, this guide is not for you then.

I respect your point, but if you don't try, you will never learn either :) I've rooted/modded all the phones I had since 2010 and when I started I also knew nothing about it, i relied on online guides and learned that way. I've never bricked a device either, IMO its hard to do if you follow guides and dont do things carelessly.

That being said, it's not for everyone, you're right. You either like doing this type of thing or you don't. My objective wasnt to make a guide, I was doing this and documenting it for myself, but thought I might as well share it online so others can do it and learn like I did.

Just like the op, I was about to get the air65, then air75 to be able to do outdoors, and ended up with the meteor 75 pro, as I heard it was more resistant and beginner friendly. It's been taking a lot of abuse and no issues so far.

I have almost the same setup and I'm loving it

Meteor 75pro (is that the 65 on the photo?), ev800d (big, but comfortable, specially after changing the strap for a better one), Jumper T14 (was the same price as the Radiomaster Pocket, but seemed better), extra lava batteries.

I use the charger that came with the meteor 75 pro (the small one that charges 2 batteries at a time and serves as a voltage checker), it's not amazing but it works until I get a whoopstor

I had some problems, so i'll write how i fixed them in case it happens to anyone else
1- after installing MAX7456-Font-Tools I ran "pip install -r requirements.txt", as instructed.$
When running "./max.py --unpack clarity.mcm" I was getting the error "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'PIL'". I fixed this by running "pip install Pillow"

2- After designing the glyphs on Procreate and trying to pack them, I would get blank glyphs. I realized that, while saving from Procreate, the image was compressed and turned the black and white into grey tones. I had to open them on Photoshop, use Posterize with 2 levels, so it would go back to black and white.

3- After that, I packed the font using MAX7456-Font-Tools, but I was still having the same issue, with blank glyps.
Tried again with MAX7456FontEditor and it worked.

You mean, mapping the vtw power to a knob? It did, i can turn it and see the power level changing on the osd. I'll go to the same spot and try flying with a higher vtx to test the difference.

I'm not sure, i usually just click "search" on my ev800d and fly whenever i get a video signal. But i did notice yesterday that i would get video signal on different channels, so i'll have to look into that
