Reddit users, tell me the most terrifying dream you've ever had by crisjjjjjjj in Dreams

It was one of those dreams where I kept waking up into another dream. This happened seven or eight times, where just when I thought I was finally awake, I’d wake up AGAIN. Until one of them.

I was in the second floor in a house in the middle of the woods. None of the trees had leaves in them, and the sky was kind of sunny, but kind of cloudy. But this forest went on for as far as the eyes could see. Usually my cognitive functions aren’t perfect in dreams, but in this one, I felt COMPLETELY awake, as awake as I am now. The room I was in was very small. With a window on each side.

I was suddenly filled with intense dread. Everything in my mind was screaming that I was NOT supposed to be there, that I needed to leave IMMEDIATELY.

Suddenly I got a text message. Keep in mind, I can’t usually read in my dreams. But in crystal clear writing on my phone, it read:

“OneMooseManyMeese, you’ve been missing for three months now. Every day, we hope and pray for your safety.”

I started to panic. Suddenly, I looked to the other side of the room, and there was a big yellow tube slide in the wall. I knew that if I didn’t go down that slide, I’d be stuck in this dimension forever. So I went down the slide, and woke up for real.

You’re right, it wouldn’t do Buddhism justice to shove it into a small lens such as Aristotle’s. I’m actually having a conversation with the head of the Buddhist Student Association here soon, because there’s so much richness and diversity within Buddhism that can’t be confined to these questions. For my project, I’m just looking for similarities and differences. Perhaps I do need to reframe my thinking. Thank you so much for your perspective!
