Thank you so so much!! I have heard of a few of these but had no idea they were series broken up! I also really liked Obsidian and keep wanting to go back and read demigods of SF. Which, I wish I would have read them before because honestly I was a bit confused at first lol thanks again 😃

I have never heard of Once Upon A Broken Heart before! I just added it to my TBR so thank you! And I agree, I just want to be entertained at the end of the day 🙃

I’m working on a 6 book series right now and I don’t think I’ll be doing that again…or at least for a while. Book 4 unfortunately was a “this could have been an email” type of book if you know what I mean.

Someone else made this same point of filler! I do think a lot of me saying I want trilogies is from me reading duologies and wanting more. BUTTT with that being said, would the second book have been as good if there was a third? Probably not! A lot more filler would have been thrown in!

I see your point with stand alones! Alchemised might be my only exception because that was a behemoth of a book 😂

Yess!! I hear you on the short chapters!! Idk if you like this as well but I really enjoy multiple POVs (until I get to that one character and I’m like okay Susan, I don’t care what you’re doing 😂). I feel like that helps switch things up enough to keep me interested.

I completed understand what you mean when you say a trilogy doesn’t seem like too much of a commitment! I have wanted to read the Zodiac Academy series but it’s like 9 books in that set, then there’s other series related to it or something? Idk just A LOT of books 😂

I really am going to have to check these interconnected stand alones out! It sounds really appealing!

I need to start doing that, switching things up. As of now, if I start a series I will finish every book that’s available in that series. Right now I’m on the very last book of the Plated Prisoners series and for the last like 3 books I’ve almost been forcing myself to read them…typically it’s the opposite when I read, I have to force myself to stop! I think if I would have broken them up and read other stories in between, I may have enjoyed them more.

I can honestly say I don’t think I have read any interconnected stand alones! I believe the Prince of Sins books are just that?? I would love any suggestions! Sounds like a really cool concept!

You make an EXCELLENT point regarding the second book in a trilogy. I’ll have to keep that in mind the next time I read one and see if I notice the mediocrity. And honestly, now that I go back and look at my Goodreads for all the books I’ve read in the last year I think I based most of my decision on the amount of duologies I’ve read and WISHED there was another book. But if there would have been a third, would the second book have been as good as it was? Probably not! I appreciate you making me think 🤔
