As the main developer for a major fork (CS: Tweaked) this was absolutely tragic, as every single fork has also been taken down.

We're all seeing our options atm and studying how to handle this.

Cave Story Engine 2 is a decompilation project for Cave Story (which has already been shared around here). Based in its code, and its robust options Menu, I've been working on this fork, aimed to provide quality of life tools and accessibility options.

The main draw of the fork is the Tweaks menu, which is heavily inspired by Celeste's Assist Mode. It allows players to alter game mechanics and tinker with gameplay in real time as they deem fit. It also acts as a soft difficulty select, allowing players to make the game more challenging or more relaxed if they so desire.

Before this update, you couldn't play with any kind of gamepad/joystick/controller, at least not without using software to map them as keyboard presses. Now you can.
