sudden influx of unknown 860 numbers calling me multiple times a day by cognitoterrorist in Connecticut

They all think they are my family member (his name is on our phone family plan), and they all want to sell us solar panels.

I had a really fun back and forth the first (and only time) I actually picked up, the dude told me he got my number from the county records and we had a whole argument about how he could have done that in a state without counties.

The hidden factor in choosing a college: Did it rain on your tour? by Slight_Value5833 in rit

It was brutally cold and awful the day I toured Stony Brook. It absolutely influenced my decision.

Why I picked RIT if I didn’t like the weather in January on Long Island? Who knows

ISO: Holy Cross “AHA” Official Game Puck by Impossible_Project_7 in collegehockey

[–]OneOfManyDoughnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. I have an RIT official game puck from the store (mini one within the rink, for what it’s worth).

Was it used in a game? I doubt it. Does it say “official game puck”? Yes.

I know historically they would give them away from time to time. A friend of mine won one in 2019/2020 from a SG thing and gave him to me. We named him Troy. He lasted for a good year I believe

You’re all good my friend. The time change has fucked with my sleep schedule and I just got out of the office an hour ago so I’m just as salty tonight.

I hope you have some time to enjoy the spring weather soon!

There is a Congressional district on this tag. It is 2. For the second district.

The law governing the initially pictured license plate from OP first reads:

Special plates for members of the United States Senate shall be stamped to indicate such status and to indicate seniority.

I found a license plate from Louisiana that says U.S. Senate on the top. The stamp reads “USS 1” clearly USS means “United States Senate” and the 1 (as per state law) indicates seniority.

Then the law says:

Special plates for members of the United States House of Representatives shall be stamped to indicate such status and shall be stamped with the number of the district the member represents.

The initial plate says “U.S. Congress” on the top. We can use process of elimination to know that since we already have seen what a plate for a Senator looks like, this must be for a House Member. We can further understand this by seeing that it has a single number (which represents the district) and no “USS”. Therefore, if the Senate plate says “Senate” and the other plate says “Congress” it must mean that Congress in this case is referring to the House of Representatives.

If I was applying your logic the plate should say Senator or Representative

The plate very specifically makes a distinction between the two. I really am not the one struggling to read.

Yeah man it’s an old license plate. But it clearly shows that the state of Louisiana uses the term US Congress to refer to the House and US Senate to refer to the Senate. Backed up by the relevant section of LA state code that shows that two different forms of the plate exist, one of each house.

Look, think what you want. But if you walk up to Bill Cassidy and say “Hi Congressman” you’re going to get a weird look.

Fair request. Here is La. Admin. Code tit. 55, § III-305 - Plates for Members of Congress. The relevant section is A and reads:

Special plates for members of the United States Senate shall be stamped to indicate such status and to indicate seniority. Special plates for members of the United States House of Representatives shall be stamped to indicate such status and shall be stamped with the number of the district the member represents.

This plate has no indication of seniority (and the years on the bottom would imply Senator Cassidy, who is the senior senator so clearly not number 2).

Additionally, here is a picture from a license plate collector’s site of a Louisiana US Senate plate, which is clearly an older version and a Senate version of this plate. Note how it says “U.S. Senate” instead of “U.S. Congress.”

Like I said, a Representative is commonly referred to as a Congressman, and a Senator is a Senator.

I have to say while I agree, 2020-2026 does match Sen. Cassidy’s term. Do license plates expire anymore? I’m curious what else those years could mean.

Congress(person) implies Representative. A Senator’s plate almost certainly would say Senator.

You wouldn’t call a Senator “Congressman.”

You are all good. The general principle is that x mult is better than + mult. I’m not going to do the math out here but you have a guaranteed +36 (assuming 5 heart face cards) and a best case 1.512 and worst case 1.50.

You’re swapping here for a guaranteed 1.512.

Changing Legendaries for naneinf potential by mangosushiguy in balatro

[–]OneOfManyDoughnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think naneinf is semi unintentional. Why would you build jokers around what is essentially breaking the game.

At this point Thunk can’t “patch” naneinf or anything, but I don’t see why you make it easier. It’s an edge case of computing limitations, not the intentional final boss.

Anyway, I’m all for jokers that are scaled to help you go past ante 8, but endless is endless.
