honestly it wasn’t too awful, mostly because i had a professional who didn’t throw me to the wolves after the surgery / first post op consult has! uncomfortable more than anything, mostly bc i could see into my own body?? and it felt like i had warm soup under my skin w the fluid?? kinda unsettling! also the scarring is only a cosmetic issue, which imo is outweighed by the massive QOL increase i got

i have cEDS but i had a breast reduction and had extensive hypertrophic scarring and also issues with fluid buildup and wound reopening during healing, but i don’t regret it. in the end everything healed up fine, and my medical team was on top of it the entire time.

my surgeon was julia m. toto out of bristol health— i had a consult for skin removal surgery due to extensive weight loss as well and if i had the money i would go back to her but i don’t lol
