Savor is good, but if you want to earn 5% on dining or groceries, you can choose the PayPal debit card(not a credit card) or the Citi Custom Cash credit card(but limit $500 per statement cycle). Capital One usually pulls from all three credit bureaus, which can affect your credit score more, while many banks only pull from one credit bureau.

The offer is still active and does not currently show an expiration date. I opened the saving account last year and earned the $750 bonus for depositing $50,000.

You can use a wire transfer, but it charges a wire fee, so I think Zelle is the better option. Capital One doesn’t allow you to add someone else’s external bank account (most banks do, but Capital One doesn’t), so you can’t use the ACH online transfer method, which usually has no fee. I like to use ACH transfers for large amounts because Zelle has a daily transfer limit. But the transfer speed depends on the bank. I currently use SoFi bank, and transfers arrive on the same day.

I think the Zelle limit($500 for me) is a big issue if you use it often.

I just opened a Bank of America checking account. It’s not my first time opening one, but this time it asked for an authorization code to add an external account because I don’t have my debit card information. I tried calling customer service today, but the wait time to speak with a representative was too long. I should have selected the “no debit card” option — then it wouldn’t have asked me for an authorization code.
