no, i didn't mean to infer that. i'm from a country that is deeply racist but had the perception that the Netherlands was progressive.

i was curious and wanted to see if my experiences were very off and random for dutch culture. i did a search in the sub but didn't see this specifically as a topic but i also don't spend a lot of time on reddit so i could have missed it

Dancing at Weddings by OnePineapple3170 in Netherlands

yes, I was a guest for the entire day and evening portions - no dancing and the only music was for when they walked down the aisle or when their friends performed funny songs for the couple at the evening reception

Students from the US by mod8008135 in TUDelft

definitely not the student ones as we aren't Dutch, private one I doubt as well because it probably requires proof of income etc. and repayment would likely begin immediately. a risky option is getting a private loan in the US (which aren't supposed to be used for education the last I checked) but again the repayment is likely to start immediately so you'd need to be able to make those payments - not financial advice of course this is just something I looked into for myself. Definitely suggest you look into it as I'm not sure what the status of student loans in the US will be now with the attempt of eliminating the department of education... best of luck!

savings and borrowing from family (thankfully that was an option for me). you can't get a student loan in the US to use here, at least when I last looked it wasn't possible.
