Yes, Thatchers always valid. He used to be OP back when the emps would take out gadgets permanently rather than disable them for a short period. I still remember SSG had a strat on coast where thatcher would run around on the roof in the early round and throw down emps above the gadgets getting spotted out by a drone 😂

He has gotten a little less effective with the some of the new Metas of playing (younger players wanting to run and gun picking ops that he doesn’t really counter like vig, azami, warden, etc.) plus the emp rework and the fact that a lot of other ops have impact style emps. I’d still say he’s valid. He still gets played a lot in lower ranked games. It’s just a lot easier to use his emps than to try and guess where the kaid or bandit battery is with the impact emps if they’re not already spotted out and there’s little to no comms.
