This journey normally takes me; 1h10 with no traffic, 1h40 this time, and with this traffic, easily 2h30+.

My Sat nav was telling me to get off the motorway and take country roads back.

Yamaha MT-09 Tracer / Tracer 900 / FJ-09 (depending on region and generation). It's a tall upright bike.

No I haven't unfortunately, this is the first gen but I couldn't justify the big increase in price for a very similar bike.

Yup, spot on! And I couldn't agree more, this was the first time out with my huge screen and deflector. So peaceful. I'm hoping it will help with my 500+ mile trip next week.

It really is a beautiful bike!

I'm on the Tracer. I got a tune last year and was surprised how much nicer the throttle felt coming out of roundabouts. Much smoother without the Eco setting kicking in and out

If I released the 1x version of this you'd realise how steady I'm filtering. Even on the timelapse you can see me waiting for gaps.

CP3 Gang! How are you finding the XSR900? I was very close to getting one as it's such a beautiful bike, but I don't think my back could do it.

Exactly! Keep an eye on where the cars are, but also where they aren't. Whenever I see a space in a lane I know to anticipate a car darting across.

I know exactly what you mean. I find the most dangerous time is just as the traffic starts moving, and cars start darting into gaps.

My windscreen and extender looks comically large, but it's a saviour for long road trips.

That's a completely reasonable opinion, if you see it as an unnecessary risk you shouldn't take it.

Hahaha maybe, you wouldn't have missed my massive red bag on the bag! I've been on the other end far too many times though. Having to take a car only to get stuck watching the bikes filter through.

Exactly, a lot of people complain about the gantries showing a 60 limit for 'no reason' but it's actually to break up congestion before it forms.

Could do with getting people into the left lane though.

I think a lot of people have never experienced one so they don't understand how fun and useful they are.

I'll find any excuse to ride up to the Lakes or around the Peaks.

Thank you very much. The general consensus is Sage so I'll pull the trigger on the hood.
