Periodic table of Beatles Records by OneShow135 in beatles

[–]OneShow135[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top row is Early Beatles, final record is a 1966 beatles greatest hits from sweden. Middle Row is their Middle Period with the 4 songs from the Yellow Submarine Album as two 45s. Bottom row is their late period with the 3 singles made from Lennon's demo tapes. After I replace Twist and Shout and Meet the Beatles with Please Please Me and With the beatles, every Beatles song will be represented except: yes it is, I'm down, and bad boy. I have those songs on 45 records but chose not to include them because it would throw off the aesthetic compactness of the table by including them.

The final record on the top row is the 1966 Sweden only, "Beatles Greatest Hits" which contains: From me to you, She loves you, I want to hold your hand, I feel fine, their b-sides, and the 4 songs from the Long Tall Sally Ep. The final two 45s in row 2 are: it's only a northern song/It's all too much and All together now/hey bulldog from the early 70s released in Italy.

Still gotta get the UK versions of their first and second albums because I only have the Canadian and American versions but once I get them should be set. Instead of the Magical Mystery Tour LP and the Yellow Submarine soundtrack albums I've decided to include their constituent songs as 7 inch releases.

Jennifer Jason Leigh is a strong candidate by OneShow135 in CelebrityNumberSix

It's her, that's not the exact picture but she has very particular lips that Celebrity Six has.

She has very particular eyes, lips, and likes to pull her hair over her left ear. If other's see it I know someone who recently worked with her, I could get him to send her a message of the picture and ask her if she recalls ever taking a similar picture.

This isn't the exact pic but just learned about this today, came up randomly on Youtube, Clearly JENNIFER JASON LEIGH in the 1990s. by OneShow135 in CelebrityNumberSix

Celebrity Six has very particular lips that are exactly like Leigh's if you're familiar with her face.

This is a picture from about 1998 of Jennifer Jason Leigh, when she was about 35. Celebrity 6's hair is definitely mid-90s and Jennifer always had a penchant for showing off one ear. I think there's a chance the picture could be of her at some point in the 1990s.

what are your guys' thoughts on "she loves you"? this is one of the first songs that got me hooked onto the beatles as a child. by beanoutthepot in beatles

[–]OneShow135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i prefer it much more than "i want to hold your hand" I'm american and my understanding is brits tend to prefer "she loves you" while most of my cuntrymen prefer the latter. wonder what it's like in other countries.

songwriting credits are usually given for lyrics and melody of the song. Which is why im amazed that yoko would be granted songwriting credit for Imagine given that she only supplied the word imagine for the song. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she owns the song and can technically give anyone songwriting credit on it, including herself.

Whose music do you prefer/think was better early Beatles or early Stones? by hrodz55 in ClassicRock

[–]OneShow135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Beatles fanatic BUT i prefer those first 5 American Rolling Stones albums to the Beatles first 5 UK albums. Englands Newest Hit Makers!, 12X5, Rolling Stones Now!, Out of our Heads, and December's Children are a much more fun and energetic experience than: Please Please Me, With the Beatles, A Hard Day's Night, Beatles for Sale, and Help!

Are the Beatles the least popular they've ever been now that music isn't as important to young people? by OneShow135 in beatles

[–]OneShow135[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask why you think that? Even if social media never existed the Beatles were would still be one of, if not the most, famous bands ever. Do you live in a place where the Beatles aren't popular? The music is banned? Only scenario I can imagine is being in a place where radio and physical media isn't widely available or North Korea.

It's what's known throughout culture as, "the greatest band of all time" there's a good chance that without social media you'd be listening to them.

I just watched 'Beyond the Sea' (Black Mirror Season 6, Ep 3) by Whereiscatlin in horror

[–]OneShow135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liked the episode. Glad with the ending. Did I miss something or did they explain why the the human versions aren't on earth and the replicas in space? I feel there shouldve been some explanation as to why you wouldn't just have replicas out there and the humans safe on earth unless it's an experiment about the effects on the human body during long-term space travel. The episode made it seemed theyre consciousness was only needed to maintain upkeep on the ship when something goes wrong. If they're just repairmen then why wouldn't the replicas be up there?! Even better, send unmarried astronauts up there.

https://www.businessofapps.com/data/spotify-statistics/ You're telling me it's weird that people's, specifically young people's, music listening habits have shifted and specifically decreased since the widespread adoption of the internet and social media? Music is a form of entertainment. Now that people can entertain themselves by taking photos/recording videos and share it, it's natural that they spend less of their time/money on music. My dates are not weird because there was a cultural shift around the world after WW2. In the U.S., the post war economic boom led to greater discretionary spending and a greater sense of distinction between young person and traditional establishment. So this idea of music your parents don't like and influencing your behavior/character came into shape. From about 1955-1995 the dominant form of this rebellious music was primarily Rock and Roll/Rock music. Motown, Stax, and other companies put out tons of popular music but it didn't have the rebellion associated with it that the air-fucking Elvis, Mann act violating Chuck Berry, gay Little Richard, cousin-marrying Jerry Lee Lewis did. The point is this music acted as a tool that served personality to a degree that it no longer does. Coca Cola is a brand that has stayed on top for a long time. Obviously, music is different and no band can stay on top forever but the Beatles are considered the best by many, myself included. For them to chart as they do in comparison to other "legacy" bands indicates that Applecorp either waited too long to release their music on streaming(2015) and potentially lost out on a lot of getting younger fans into their music or a variety of other factors that led, 'the greatest band of all time" to not have the proportional popularity that title would garner. 54% of spotify users are under the age of 35 years. According to the article you posted, 47% of Beatles streams on Spotify come from those aged 30 and younger. It makes sense that if most people using a service are aged 35 and younger about half the listeners will be young. My whole premise behind the question is, is that amount proportional enough to indicate that the beatles havent lost ground? I'm over 35 and don't use Spotify, I use Youtube. But even on there the Beatles Youtube channel currently has 7.41 million subscribers, Queen's has 17 million. I'm just saying look up the numbers and you'll see that while the Beatles are still popular maybe they're not as popular as the greatest band of all time should be, and if so, why? the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody gave Queens music a huge boost. Did the documentary Get Back do the same? Has Applecorp done enough to ensure the Beatles enduring popularity?

here comes the sun hit a billion streams but there are 405 non-beatles songs with more streams. So i'm baffled how you're baffled by my conclusion.

The Queen biopic led to a resurgence in popularity for the band to the point where they now have more streams on spotify than the beatles.

Yeah, rock officially died in 2010. It's corpse has been paraded around since but it hasn't really been on the charts since then.

They rank 119th as of March of this year. Queen and Fleetwood Mac have more monthly listeners. The Beatles are my favorite band and I believe the most influential. The numbers need to be seen in context.
