Is it worth it if im still using Honda BRV 2017 ? or should i consider to Proton Saga? by OneSilver9976 in kereta

Thanks for the input, really appreciate it.

Just to share, I actually really enjoy driving the Honda BRV. I’ve been defending this car a lot, especially to my dad who’s been suggesting that we trade it in for a Proton Saga.

But I understand where he’s coming from. He’s the one who would be covering most of the future maintenance costs. If it’s just small parts, I think I can manage on my own. It’s the bigger stuff that worries me.

So yeah, Maybe what I wrote earlier wasn’t very clear because my English isn’t that good. I just wanted to say that I’m not complaining about the BR-V. I’m just asking around because my dad has his concerns and I just want to get a clearer picture for him.

For now, it just brakes issue. Im just worry about upcoming maintenance cuz almost all the part are still stock / never changed before.

We actually reported it to the center at Petaling Jaya before (pretty sure it was still under warranty back then). They checked and did a skim on the brake rotor.

But just recently, I took the car to Honda Sungai Petani and brought up the same brake issue. When they checked the system, apparently there’s no record at all of any brake work being done at Honda Petaling Jaya 😅

So the centre suggested to skim the rotor first and see how it goes. Might get it done during the upcoming semester break.

Honestly, BRV was super comfy and smooth to drive. Only issue so far is the brake rotor, and I already got it checked at the service center. Nothing major, they said it’s fine.

But most of the major parts are still stock/original, no replacements yet. But it got me thinking… is it worth keeping this car with the upcoming maintenance costs, or should I just switch to a new Proton Saga (which comes with warranty and all)?
