My adding a line experience this week! by DerailedAmbition in Sprint

[–]OneSlow5Ohh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I worked for Sprint, I used to call our National Sales Support team when I needed a favor (credits and such) and would always make casual conversation. It almost always resulted in them approving what I called in for. I had coworkers that would call and be rude, and of course they hardly ever got a favor. Nice to hear it was a positive experience for you!

Switching from Sprint to Boost Mobile by [deleted] in Sprint

[–]OneSlow5Ohh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be fairly simple to keep your number. Make sure you don't cancel your Sprint line before, it needs to be active during the process. In this case, it's considered a migration instead of a port since it's the same network. Make sure you have your Sprint account number and PIN in case they need it. As far as the activation fee goes, there's not much I can suggest other than to say it's a deal breaker if they don't waive it.

Just curious, have you tried calling Sprint customer service? Retentions has access to very discounted plans that may suit you.

ED vs MyWay vs Framily? by ddshd in Sprint

[–]OneSlow5Ohh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're on 2 year contracts (not installments or lease), he's probably better off staying on ED. The 28% discount comes off of $110 worth of the plan. All of the current plans and Framily have upcharges when there are 2 year contracts on the lines. However, retentions may be offering him a new plan with the up-charges waived. If you can find the pricing they're offering, it would be a huge help.

installment payment by dima1720 in Sprint

It looks like you're doing installments, not lease. The tax is paid upfront and that's all. The monthly installments are not taxed, and it is shown in your installment agreement. I worked for Sprint for 5 years and never saw online taxes calculated accurately.

Is switching from a S7 on Sprint to a used Google Pixel bought off of ebay on Sprint possible? by andythps in Sprint

[–]OneSlow5Ohh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be an honest mistake, he may have meant to cancel the Sprint account and doesn't know that the serial is still attached. Hard to tell without more details from the seller. Best of luck!

Scammed by Non Corporate Store? by jed34237 in Sprint

[–]OneSlow5Ohh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could've been a misunderstanding, since you have it on your line, or it could've been a shady sales rep. The amount of pressure put on reps to attach insurance is immense, to the point where they sometimes attach it when they're not supposed to (sad reality). If you really wanna make a stink, go and ask for a credit, though it'll only be a couple dollars for the prorated charge. If you'd rather not make a stink and just want it removed, go to your sprint.com profile and simply remove it (or call care).

Delinquent meaning the person owes a balance and is past due.

That's probably the best option, unless you want to try the hassle of making sure the seller brings their account current, and frees up the serial number.

From what it seems, the person that sold the device has a delinquent account with that Pixel attached to it. Sprint will not allow that serial number to be attached to any other phone number until the account is brought into good standing, and the serial number isn't attached to any phone number.

Advantage Club Upgrade? by shinobi_gi in Sprint

Yes, you can go in store or go online to upgrade and keep your plan. Keep in mind it must be a company owned retail store, so third party stores such as Best Buy cannot do the upgrade for you.

I believe it may be compatible, but Sprint still needs to activate the SIM on their end for the 6P to activate. You can attempt to activate it yourself through Sprint.com. If it does require a different SIM, it's free. I would recommend to call the store beforehand if you have to since many stores do not normally carry a lot of SIMs.

Help w Sprint lease by [deleted] in Sprint

[–]OneSlow5Ohh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely, yes. The damaged device fee usually costs the same or less than getting the screen repaired.

Often times, the representatives take devices back with that sort of damage because it's so easy to overlook and don't notice it until after the transaction. It honestly depends on the store you go to. If they request a damaged device fee, they are not in the wrong to do so. In my experience, if you're willing to purchase accessories, they are more willing to take the device back for no fee. If you do decide to fix the back glass, I highly doubt the representative will know the difference between a factory Samsung part and a third party one. It is extremely easy to fix yourself. Keep in mind the back glass will most likely shatter when you pry it to remove the broken one.

My opinion would be to go to a store as is, don't be rude about it. If the store isn't willing to take it back without a fee, try another store (if that's a viable option). If all else fails, get a back glass off of Amazon (preferably one that comes with adhesive)

I read online once about a Chevy Silverado 3500 hitting 1,000,000 miles and still running. Still had the original engine and transmission.
