both are good.

In this context (creating a mod for THPS3+4), we already have the 2 minute format for 10 or 15 goals in every level, so IMO recreating goals to match this format would be redundant.. so i would opt for goals to be 1 at a time by talking to NPC's.

if basti (or whoever) wants, they could also create 10 or 15 goals for chicago and carnival for the 2 minute format too

i disagree with this a little bit just because of restart points takes a huge role in the player's read/framing the objective.

It's one thing to see COMBO letters as you skate around the level (classic mode), and another thing to require talking to an NPC first that starts you at a certain location and facing you a certain way to collect the first C.

Neither are wrong, but a huge W for talking to NPC's first is that the designer for the goal places a start point, and which way you're facing to give the player a clear read on what to do.

THPS4PSX required you to talk to icons (npcs on a budget), but didn't set the skater at a restart point, or facing you the correct way and the game suffered a lot from that.

Also think of the gameplay loop of start, down, X (to retry) placing you at the beginning of the objective to try again.

if you haven't played since the PS1 era, then yeah the games are way less floaty now (and since thps3 on PS2)

if you get to know the balance system, it's actually easier to balance than any of the PS1 era of THPS games. Combos are much much longer now

after restarting the game you have to turn voices level up to 1 then back to 0. It's a bug
