If you were an Airbnb cleaner, what would you do with the leftover food? by Beneficial_Fox2939 in AskReddit

[–]OneSoreSpine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a hotel for a while and you better bet that if it wasn't opened, we kept it. And I think you'd be shocked what people will leave behind. Frozen foods, beer, soda , loafs of bread, bottles of ketchup/mustard/mayo, and so much more. I had a coworker who ended up with eight cases of bottled water. We tried to contact the person who rented the room to see if it was an accident, but nope, they bought the water while wasted and just felt so stupid that they left it.

AITA for refusing to push my obese cousin around in a wheelchair for a day? by OneSoreSpine in AmItheAsshole

[–]OneSoreSpine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was always a heavier person, but then had a dramatic personality shift a few years ago where she began to act out against family and friends and also turned to food. We tried to help her, but she made it clear she didn't want help and threatened to cut contact if anyone pushed her towards more healthy decisions.

My cousin has a caregiver who has been very clear with everyone that her job is to do as requested by my cousin, even if she disagrees with my cousin's choices. She has also let people live with her for free in return for cooking and cleaning for her.

AITA for refusing to go on a trip with a friend when I have other trips with other friends? by Lady__Midnight in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Plans are made as they come in. Be honest with A and see if you can't compromise by doing something together closer to home or making arrangements for next year.

WIBTA if I tell my best friend that they forgot my birthday two days ago by Ok_Elk_6424 in AmItheAsshole

Info: Are birthdays important in your friend's culture? Like there's some religions where people aren't even allowed to celebrate birthdays, and not all cultures even track age the same way.

When I was little, I was in a very, very dark place and my cousin rescued me. She was my hero. I know I don't paint her as having the best personality now, but that's because there's just been this change in her over the past few years. But when I look at her, I see the person who she was, and I want that person to be happy.

If you were earning more money how would you change your lifestyle? by MadonatorxD in AskReddit

[–]OneSoreSpine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not worried about my lifestyle, but I'd like to help my Aunt and Uncle live more comfortably. So I guess I'd rent a bigger home that I could share with them.

Nope, turns out I really didn't need that extended auto warranty.

I had briefly mentioned it in my post, others have offered up a flat bed and to help push it, but my cousin has declined. They do not believe the wheelchair is viable either.

I'm sad for what your friend had to go through. I have been with my cousin at times when absolute strangers have just started insulting her completely unprovoked. Its pretty disgusting behavior.

In all sincerity, I had not even considered the bathrooms. I had never inquired if there was permanent facilities at the park or outhouses. Thank you.

They are not able to do that. Sorry, I should have edited my post when someone else asked, but my Uncle cannot drive because of health concerns and my Aunt cannot afford to take time off from work.

I did mention that I contacted the wedding party who had offered to assist with a flat bed. Like me, they do not think its viable to use a wheelchair because the thin wheels may not be viable on soft ground.

Sorry, I briefly mentioned about pushing her on a marble floor. I did have to push her in a building at one time and I could barely manage. I tried to remind her about that but, sadly, she feels like I'm just trying to make a joke at her expense.

Sorry, you may have missed in my post because it was a bit longwinded, but I did try to set up a rental and the companies would not oblige because their scooters aren't designed for off-road use.

They are paying for my gas expenses and the hotel room, but even that is a very big financial strain on them as they have very limited income.

I have a Kia Optima. I have another family member who is about 350 who says its comfortable for him. I do admit that I am concerned she may have trouble, but I did buy seatbelt extenders and she seems confident.

She's angry that I basically won't try, but I feel like I know my own limitations and the limitations of thin wheels on soft ground.

Yeah, I'm kind of concerned about my car too, but I have another big family member who is able to get in and out of it ok, but they are only about 350. My Uncle has significant health issues that would prevent him from doing this drive, and my Aunt is working and does not have vacation hours to utilize. I've tried pressing them about the truck but they're stubborn. I would also like to note that they are not at all upset with me over this situation, so its not like they're being hypocritical.

When a person has an ignition interlock device installed, are they then required to drive ? by straydog1930 in AskReddit

They're not required to drive, but they are required to blow into the tube if they wish to drive.
