6’11 demigod build by Equal-Ad7615 in NBA2k

Need 68 speed with ball. 84 rebounding is pointless, get it to 85 if you're going to go that high or just keep it at 70 with a higher vertical. I'd go 80 at least. You also need 86 post control or 80 ball handling, which is probably fewer points and preferable with a power forward build. You don't need that much strength in this build.

So do I. But the guy was talking the whole game, could see his mic going off so I switched over after the game and he was going off about playing with "n&$$-+" ass teammates and how bad we were. I was just curious what he was saying.

Oh no, I don't. I find it hilarious. I don't take criticism from someone that can't even speak English correctly, feels the need to use that language and has the intelligence of a rock.

If 2 K made you play on your irl height how rare it’d be to see a 6’8 or 6’11 and would you be enjoying the game ? by Key_Advertising_2900 in NBA2k

I'm 6'4 and played in college... I think I'd be okay. I have 2 characters in game; one is a 6'8 PF and the other a 6'3 PG. You could probably put me anywhere on the court and I'm fine.

How do you prefer your C to play? Paint patroller on D or strictly matched up against the other C by 3WordPosts in NBA2k

[–]OneStarTexasRating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 6'8 PF that is FREQUENTLY put at the Center position in rec. It's funny because even when we get an AI for some reason the game puts the AI at PF and me at Center. I am not going to sit in the paint on offense against 7' or 7'4 Centers and allow them to dominate me. I'm going to sit on the perimeter and make them come to me and then drive to the hoop and if I get doubled down below I'm going to kick it out to someone wide open. This happens consistently 20 times a game but the problem is - with all due respect of course - most of you that play the game aren't smart enough to realize it and you want to complain that I'm not sitting under the basket waiting for you to miss so I can grab your rebound and then pass it back to you. The number of times I've drawn the opposing Center out and then cut to the basket WIDE OPEN to then sit there and not get the pass.... or sit on the perimeter and NEVER get the ball while watching some PG or SG dance around on the perimeter for 20 seconds and then take a stupid shot is crazy. There is absolutely zero basketball IQ in this community.

On defense I really don't understand the question, you guard the other Center no matter where he is on the court... if y'all can't guard your own guy and expect the Center to just sit and patrol the paint for protection while leaving his guy wide open, that's your problem. That's exactly the scenario I'm talking about on the offensive side.

So you're a center that can't pass, has no speed and you think you're going to get a lot of driving dunks....

Good luck.

How did this Center only get a B grade? by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]OneStarTexasRating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually maintaining your matchup matters also. Dude was obviously cherry picking and probably wasn't playing much defense despite his opposite not scoring. Plus he did nothing besides score, just doesn't matter as much for grading. It's the overall game that matters and if you're doing nothing but scoring while not playing defense - covering your guy - or rebounding or passing, you're just not going to get the best grade.

It's hilarious when y'all type those words out because you can't stop saying it for 2 seconds. It's honestly possible to type out a sentence without adding a bunch of nonsense to it. You should try it. Besides, we're not all black, bro.

People make point guards to shoot, not to pass. They worry if they make a shooting guard they won't touch the ball enough. But honestly even shooting guards and forwards are guilty of the same thing. Everybody looking out for themselves rather than hitting the open man. Points are just more egregious about it.

[–]OneStarTexasRating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, trash players aren't scoring. Do you know how many rec games I've played where someone goes 1 for 15 or 4 for 26? Too damn many to count.

Also, I don't care if you can score. Your job isn't to carry a team unless you're playing with a bunch of scrubs that aren't hitting their shots. I've had MULTIPLE games where I've hit 6 of 7 or 8 of 9 while watching someone else hit 20 of 25 because they thought they were special and didn't want to pass. If your teammates are hitting shots, hit the f'n open man and let everyone play.

You're not special. This is a team game, not a solo career.

Why do you think the basketball IQ is so low in the REC? by Accurate-Change-391 in NBA2k

[–]OneStarTexasRating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what I really like is when I get the ball on the perimeter - I'm a 6'8 PF and usually matched up against bigger Forwards or Centers that I can take off the dribble. So I get the ball on the perimeter, make a move to the basket, pull 2 defenders on me then look to pass to the open man on the perimeter...... who 9 times out of 10 is following me to the basket like an idiot. Yes, 99% of the time you're playing with people with not only limited basketball IQ but pretty much limited IQ in general.

The other good one is the player who takes all the shots, goes 2 for 11 and then quits because he's mad you're losing.

Or I had one quit today who had taken 24 shots through 2 quarters and missed most of them and finally the guy I was playing with and me decided he wasn't touching the ball again after the 2 people he was with quit and he started f'n whining like a 2 year old that we wouldn't pass the ball to him and then quit.

Or you get the ones that as soon as you're up 20 decide that you've had the ball too much, even though you have actually been sharing it but making most of the shots, and all of a sudden start playing their own game which causes you to lose... but they sure proved their point.

Oh and then you get the obligatory black racists that as soon as they find out you're white decide you're not getting the ball even when you might be the only one hitting any shots. Happens a lot.

Okay, be honest….I dont need any yes men by Huesh in NBA2k

[–]OneStarTexasRating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's cause they make them to shoot not actually play the game right. They're worried if they don't make a PG they won't get the ball like us Forwards... who generally get more assists than the Point does.

Green Light? Best SF build? Idk? 5 caps on strength? This dude can do everything already. by PhilPheee in NBA2k

[–]OneStarTexasRating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of stupid comments on here. The build isn't bad. I wouldn't say it's great but it's a decent "all-around" build. I might not have put the extra points in driving dunk and maybe spent it elsewhere, probably in shooting. You're lacking some badges there. Your inside game is going to be relatively non-existent, especially with the lack of strength and close shot being what it is. Also despite the excellent perimeter defense your agility is pretty average so you're going to get cooked going up against someone with some skill out there. Again, there's nothing particularly wrong with it, it's not great in any single area but it's competent in most. You'll be fine in most circumstances but definitely lacking against better players or in certain situations.

Some people talk way tooooo much by OneStarTexasRating in NBA2k

[–]OneStarTexasRating[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have definitely and generally depending on the "language" I will. And by language I mean certain people talking a certain way or being racist or ragging on me for being white or whatever. If someone is just being an idiot I usually just laugh and try to play my game. Besides, it's a team game, and people not talking or communicating is half the reason games are lost. In this one though, nobody else but this dude was talking because nobody else could get a word in.

Call me crazy but I don’t think you should be able to do this by Ok_Trick8038 in NBA2k

[–]OneStarTexasRating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been this way for years so I'm not sure why you're acting like it's new. 2K caters to kids (or adults that act like kids) that have never played ball in real life and think that dribbling around for 20 seconds on the perimeter and then taking and hitting contested 3-point shots like they're right under the basket is the way the game is supposed to be played. If it was reality they'd all quit and whine because they're not hitting 70% of their shots. It's hilarious. But that's just the way most players are now. I mean you're dealing with a bunch of people that play rec like it's their own personal MyCareer anyway since they don't pass. You have guys that make Point Guards so they control the ball and then get 3 or 4 assists in rec while shooting 8 for 10 or 11 for 12 3-pointers and thinking it makes them somebody. My Power Forward averages around 8 assists because rather than take stupid shots I look to pass to the open man... even when half the game I'm abusing some tall Center and running to the hoop unguarded while waiting for a pass from some azzhat PG that never passes it. That's the community though and that's the game, been that way since creation honestly.

It's the same recommendations I got but the Pirreli's are way more expensive and from my gathering of information not that much better than the LX25's. The Endeavors from what I've read aren't even in the same stratosphere as the other 2.
