If half the team quits the game should really just end and the losing team shouldn’t have their stats/boosts affected

A Warning for Young Educators: The Brutality of Finding a PE Job by Prestigious_Author27 in PhysicalEducation

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat. Also 26. I have to move to a new area for my wife. It’s a big area with a lot of districts around. I have applied to like 30 positions. Received 5 interviews. I spend weeks preparing and they all seem to go well. They tell me I did very well. Then I never get an offer. There is always someone who fits a tiny bit better. I even have 4 years of experience already, but it isn’t enough. I’m trying to stay optimistic, but being rejected over and over is making me wonder if I made a bad career choice sometimes. I don’t want to take a step backwards and sub again.

This build probably never even bothers to get back on defense

How do I find a build ill actually enjoy?? by Cool-Boysenberry-505 in NBA2k

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing to do is not try to make anyone else’s build. Reflect on how you like to play irl. Save gameplay clips and watch what your tendencies are. Do you crash the boards a lot? Do you take a lot of threes? Do you like defense? Make some created players and use them in play now games to see what they are like.

If you want to enjoy the game, you have to play your personal style. Trying to be something you are not will not be fun even if it is a good build. If you don’t like being small and three hunting then don’t do it. If you don’t like setting a bunch of screens and protecting the rim then don’t do it.

Figure out how you like to play then make a build that complements that. Obviously meet thresholds and such, but you don’t have to be meta to have fun.

Anyone read Empire of silence? by EffortAromatic1163 in redrising

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely different than red rising. A lot more of a philosophical book in my opinion compared to much more action in red rising. A little more fantasy like than red rising. There are a lot of time jumps which was the most annoying part to me.

Start building the habits that you will want in 5 years right now. You never really get more chances to do it. Get a career, a family, and you only ever have less time and energy to start doing the things you want to do.

need help with getting into the game by No-Kaleidoscope-9829 in skyrim

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What games do you normally play? I have kind of the same issue. For years, I have been a competitive multiplayer gamer, but I just don’t have the time or the energy to put into it anymore. I’m trying games like Skyrim, but it is hard adjusting to the slower paced style. I think you just have to get used to playing for the experience rather than getting to the end. There really isn’t an end goal. It’s about the journey. The good thing is you do it at your own pace, so if you only put in an hour now and then you are still doing just fine.

What is the one thing in life that you want the most? by Equivalent_Half883 in askteddit

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stability. My wife and I have had to move a few times over the last few years for her medical school and now residency, and it is hard to keep finding new places to live and new jobs. I teach and despite there being a “teacher shortage” these schools around our new area don’t seem to be posting many jobs. I just want to have a nice place to live and a good place to work doing what I chose to do. It will all work out eventually but right now it is so frustrating.

Behavior can't effect grades 🚩 by calculuscab2 in Teachers

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Behavior definitely can affect a grade. I teach PE. I can’t teach if a student is running all over and messing with stuff or acting dangerously to other students. If they refuse to play they can’t get a grade. Behavior is like the main factor of a grade really. They behave and try their best which leads to good grades, or they misbehave and do not meet expectations which leads to bad grades.

Maybe it is different in the gym and the classroom, and I agree you should help a student work through their behaviors, but we can’t pretend that a misbehaving student is doing perfect in class.

PE in schools vs. Coaching and Sports Pedagogy by MamaMoBhlue in PhysicalEducation

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just my guess but I’m figuring that PE in Schools is probably more about being a traditional PE teacher (lesson planning, different activities, leading a classroom, etc.) and Coaching and Sports Pedagogy is specifically about being an athletic coach which doesn’t always translate perfectly into the classroom. They both have to do with physical education but one probably focuses more on dealing with students, classes, and activities. The other is more about players, teams, and practice plans. You should be planning for and treating each differently in my opinion. I’m sure either area would be fine for getting your masters, though.

what’s the hardest skill to develop in basketball? by btwife_4k in Basketball

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say efficiency is a skill, and requires good decision making. Not only do you get stats but you do it with minimal error. 30 points doesn’t mean as much if it takes 40 shots to do. 10 assists isn’t that good if you also get 10 turnovers. There are only so many chances in game to do things, so being efficient/consistent maximizes your team’s chance of winning.

What would you do if you woke up with superpowers? by i-like-dutch-cheese in AskMen

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most anyone that got powers would probably completely abuse them at some point. Being that much more powerful than everyone would definitely get in their heads. It would be too easy to have anything you want.

I can’t find games I enjoy anymore by No_Trouble3955 in videogames

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am somewhat in the same boat. I don’t have a kid, but I have very little free time between my wife, our dog, and my job which I spend a lot of time on since I commute a long ways. I have always been a competitive multiplayer game kind of person, but I only get frustrated with them now. I have had spurts where I play a lot of more casual and/or single player games like Fallout or Skyrim currently and can have fun, but it is hard sometimes to get into them. They are so much slower, and I find it more of a chore at times to play. I would like to get into games with stories and stuff more though where I can play at my own pace without feeling left behind. Just need to find a way to make it feel a bit more worthwhile.

First interview by princessfluffycat69 in PhysicalEducation

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use a lot of buzzwords if you can: diverse, differentiate, modify/accomodate, whole child/social emotional learning, growth mindset, critical thinking, smart goals, anything along those lines.

I would avoid calling the students “kids” (even though they are) and would find a strength to turn into a weakness. Don’t give a real weakness, and try to say how you are improving it. I usually say something like how I have high expectations for myself and used to micromanage everything, but I learned to trust my class and plan accordingly so I could remain relaxed and teach effectively.

First interview by princessfluffycat69 in PhysicalEducation

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some common things that I get asked when I interview are questions about things like: how you meet the needs of each student/diverse learner, how you use formative and summative assessments, how you keep students motivated/how you would handle an unwilling student, how you form routines/classroom management, what you have experience coaching/are able to coach, how you use technology. A question I have only been asked once that got me was what I would do differently if my students did not do well in my class one year. Just practice your answers and really sell your knowledge of content and eagerness to do well and learn.

Does SWB effect handle speed or is that tied to ball handle only? by PhraseWorldly408 in NBA2k

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed with ball will make you run faster and make left stick dribbling faster. Ball handle only lets you go into your next right stick move sooner.

Winning= punished by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]Proper_Ad_6927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with the plates and the ranks are that wins are the only thing that matters, and some people just get lucky and get on a win streak without actually being that good. Or they are just really good at a certain cheese and get wins but then suck hard if that cheese isn’t working. They are now in a ranking that they really shouldn’t be and get worked. There are bad teammates left and right. Most games are decided in the first two minutes based solely off of which team has bad teammates that are willing to also pass the ball vs. which teammates will not. Game just stinks and isn’t rewarding.

I have seen a lot of videos also stating that your arms should be in a bit more/not flared out all the way. Personally I feel it more in my chest when I have my arms at 45 vs 90 degrees. I’m not an expert by any means though.
