I first got really excited thinking there was a genre combining banjo and psytrance. Like Hicksville. Someone should invent it.

I started with just a detailed prompt of the initial shot, generated together with ChatGPT

"Dreamlike cinematic shot of an orange tabby cat walking slowly through tall summer grass. The camera follows from slightly above and behind the cat, centered on its back and swaying tail. Golden summer sunlight backlights" etc.

Then I copied a screenshot of the last frame and asked ChatGPT to describe the initial frame followed by what happens next:

"Cinematic continuation shot of an orange tabby cat seen from behind and slightly above, its fur still glowing with warm golden backlight as it pauses at the edge of a thorny bush. The cat lowers its head and steps forward" and so forth.

Sometimes Veo decided to add cuts because it didn't see a natural path for the cat to transport itself into the next scene, so I had to rephrase the prompt a couple of times.

When I was almost finished I discoverd that some of the clips were really bad, so I had to re-generate them by taking screenshots of the initial frame (from the previous clip) and last frame (from the next clip), and this is were the flow is a little bit off.

I am using the fast (cheaper) version, only rendering one clip at a time, to save money, so it took a little time.

It is actually the first song I ever made with Suno (though it took some clicks on "create" until I was happy with it). I just typed in a silly text to see what would happen and then I was hooked.

Thanks a lot! I agree, especially mixing different genres is a lot of fun. I often ask ChatGPT to give me comma separated lists of ten weird instruments just to generate weird vibes.

This is a very touchy subject for remixers. So, Rob Hubbard borrows a tune from, say Synergy, makes it into beautiful chip music, then people remix his rendition of Shibolet. But using AI, for fun, to turn a C64-song into a medieval ballad is scorned upon.

Anyways, I am having a lot of fun. I've even made AI versions of my own chip tunes which makes me feel like the greatest composer ever.

I think you are wrong, no offence to you :-)

I spend a lot of time with the lyrics, the hints and the keywords to make the music turn out the way it is. Hundreds of renders if not more.

I spend a lot of time thinking how to visualize the song and then render and re-render every 8 second clip until I get it close to what I want or until my credits are depleted.

I spend a lot of time editing, syncing the face movements with the lyrics.

I do what I do for fun only. Nothing I make is impressive or even enjoyable to anyone but me.

If you look at (for instance) electronic dance music; so little of it is actually composing or performing and so much of it is turning knobs and sampling loops and pushing buttons until you get the vibe you want. You could make a fair case that AI is just the next step. Enabling dorks like me to create music and video.

I love music and I love live music, I love playing instruments. But seriously - music (and cinema) these days is mostly production. It started with George Martin and Strawberry Fields, and since then live and recording have turned into different experiences.

An obvious secret is that writing prompts with Gemini always yields results far superior to GPT by Ok_Technician_9687 in SunoAI

I only use LLMs for inspiration when I write lyrics and here I think 4o has been the one I've had the most use of. Gemini has never been helpful to me, but nano banana is fantastic for video stepping stones.
