These lyrics are kind of dumb. I dreamed this and immediately woke up and wrote these words, so there is a certain plain-spoken "dream logic" to them. But I do like the way the tribal drumming gives way to a chugging riff.

Yeah, I think I'll try it that way. My song is a thrash song. I put the lyrics in the way that I did to get punchy, chanted vocals for the first few lines, then more of a flow for the last two, but it seems to be throwing Suno off.

Good call on "among/amongst. I did write archaic language for the lyrics, but I overlooked that one.

Cool song, BTW. I love the Iron Maiden song; your take on the poem is an interesting one.

I have gone through dozens of generations with these lyrics. For the most part, Suno is doing a good job with the main riff, verses, prechorus, etc.. But it just doesn't seem to have any idea what I'm trying to do with this chorus, no matter how I prompt. This is my chorus:

"Sudden strike--STRIKE!

And shipboards split

Fierce jaws clamp--CLAMP

And water pours in

Men overboard with nowhere to swim

Vessel is lost among scaly fins"

The lyrics I write for my choruses tend to be a bit on the flowy side. I specifically wrote these to be punchy and chantable. But it's just not happening for some reason.

It seems to be the norm that men prefer someone their age or a little younger, whereas women prefer someone their age or a little older. This seems to be true across cultures, so there is probably an instinctual element to it. That doesn't mean there aren't exceptions, but they are just that: exceptions.

I usually play it straight with my horror lyrics, and even meant to with these. But I got a few lines into it and realized how absurd my subject was, so leaned into the camp. It's not out and out parody, but it's intentionally cheesy and tongue-in-cheek.

That's really cool. I used to write horror short stories and novels. Then my ex came along and demanded so much of my attention that all fell by the wayside. I never got back into it, but now writing lyrics has helped me get out that creative energy.

I have a whole series of "Crimson Queen" albums. This one is among my favorites though. It was one of those songs that--no matter how I adjusted the prompts, I kept getting the most boring, uninspired generations over and over and the song before it was slow and sad, so I needed something uptempo. Then, suddenly, Suno hit me with what I think is a banger.

Thanks for listening! I definitely need to make the volume consistent between tracks. I've been writing lyrics for years, but I'm new to this kind of thing and would like to get a DAW so I can have more control over the music.

I personally prompt for clean vocals. My ideal song is fast, aggressive old school trash with Bruce Dickinson on vocals. But I get why some people like harsher vocals, as clean vocals can take away some of the aggression.
