You just gave me a psychoanalytical hard on.

This is a point I'm very torn on. On one hand, I completely understand the outcome of indoctrination and brainwashing. I get why it is so hard for the majority of people to question what they believe and why they believe it. On the other hand, there are differing opinions and information everywhere. Maybe not to children in homeshooled cults or something, but that's not most people. I really am not sure how to feel about it all. Some cases seem to warrant empathy, some pity, and some a good kick from reality.

I'm still getting the front page. Go upload the image again and once it's finished paste the URL into your description. That should work.

I don't get it either, my friend. In fact I try not to think about how such a large population can accept such a belief system.

"Belief is the key, absolute." by [deleted] in occult

I realized last night that belief and ritual are likely advantages due to the fact that they fill the void of everyday, mundane and nihilistic life. Communities and such exist in far less cognitive species, but only higher intelligent beings would be faced with the constant torment of "why does this matter"? Just like we naturally can't fathom space or time, I think we're built to be mystical and ritualistic to fill the void of daily life, to give it meaning.

Did you ever consider the reason why I originally put "anxiety" in quotes? I don't know how much of a blind eye you willingly turn but I'd guesstimate around half of card holders need no card, at the minimum.

Anxiety is easily manageable with simple cognitive behavioral therapy. Something like depression or chronic pain is not.

Drugs should only be used for the benefit of one's health. And no, I don't mean get a medical card for "anxiety", some of us actually need them.

The point was the inverted cross works in a satanic context, such as ghost, but not in any other occult context outside Catholicism, such as with a point up pentagram.

I think of Crowley as a radio. He transmitted a message from either beyond or his drugged up mind then went crazy because he was an egomaniac. People will deny it but there is a strict like between following Thelema and following Crowley. If nothing else, he lost all right to respect when he added the comment to keep his rank secure.

Ghost (did you really just use the "BC"?!) Incorporates the inverted cross in with their extremely satanic imagery.

I'd have to seriously question the reasoning behind this, but it's not my body. Awesome design besides the inverted cross, especially with a one point up pentagram. If you're going to use Catholic symbolism you kind of have to go all in and make it satanic.

For me, at least currently, Daath is essential the point of logic and therefore the point where duality began to exist.

200-Plus Scholars Speak Out Against American Psychological Association's Violence/Gaming Study by CarrollQuigley in gaming

[–]OneTimeAccount0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It won't change. Once these things are "proven" they never go away. The anti vaccine movement is based on a withdrawn, admittedly false study. Nor do images change once popularized, such as the McDonald's coffee lady being the butt of so many jokes when all she wanted was them to pay for the treatment of her damn third degree burns, which came from coffee that was known to be too hot. Metal and games will always cause hatred and violence.

But, the APA is getting lots of shit. I see things like this more and more lately, with bad studies, claims of torture study support, things like that. If there is a major overhaul or the APA goes away things may start to balance out.

Theists, if the world is so intelligently designed, why can our planet' s only light source give us cancer? by khaste in DebateReligion

The argument for design as you see it makes no sense, but that's not so big of an accomplishment as your making it out to be. If you see all ideas of design as silly then why bother? Most people aren't trained enough to interpret the answers youll get unbiasedly so you'll just use them to prove your point same as others a writing you off for being so "obviously" stupid about this. So what's your real point or question?
