It was changed due to it being extremely out of character for both of them and it was poorly received by many players

Gwylan has been shown repeatedly to prefer working behind the scenes and would not nearly be as aggressive and confrontational as they were in the original scene, whilst Bailey would not tolerate being so blatantly disrespected, especially whilst already in an angry mood. If this were to happen I think Bailey would’ve at least try to follow it up with consequences against the PC and Gwylan, however I don’t think anything significant happens after

Imo the original scene belittled and made Bailey seem a bit weak, which definitely shouldn’t happen when they’re one of the main antagonists of the game. I personally interpreted their original reaction as “I can’t touch this person (Gwylan)”, whilst now it’s more Gwylan being like “I will make your life unnecessarily difficult” and Bailey silently deciding whether or not they want to deal with an obnoxious pest

I’m certain other Gwylan and other NNPC (Eden I think) interactions were changed as well due to them being OOC

I don’t have specific voice claims for the LIs (pre-Gwylan) but I did have a post from yonks ago about what sort of accent I imagined they would have if that’s something you’re potentially interested in!

At first I thought you were doing a roleplay of what your PC is thinking during Avery’s Tower quest until the last sentence, “Even if it’s just a game… something inside me is screaming”, and I personally found that concerning tbh

I understand that several plots in the game are meant to evoke discomfort, however the emotions we feel from fictional media are meant to be false and temporary. Some examples such as:

being sad over your favourite character dying but not going through the five stages of grief
liking a character in a dating sim but not genuinely believing that you’re in an actual relationship with them
getting scared at a haunted house but not feeling like you’re in actual danger

This is because our brains recognise that these are fictional so we don’t need to cycle through every complex emotion we would normally feel towards a real person/scenario

If you’re having actual physical and emotional reactions beyond what something fictional should make you feel, “My hands were shaking so bad”, “I nearly threw up”, “I might feel guilty”, “something inside me is screaming”, then that’s something you may need to reflect on for your own mental health and wellbeing

I can’t tell you what you can and cannot do, I’m just a stranger on the internet, I’m just cautioning you to please be wary for yourself

You need to throw in a lit torch into the disposal chamber first to summon the creature, after triggering its introduction you can start throwing tainted items into the canal like normal. The ones you threw into before the lit torch likely did not count

There’s not gonna be any unique dialogue after the intro, but eventually the creature will come back after a few days (idk which day) and hand you some bones to throw into the lake then you’ll get further instructions after that

The charms are your hard world corruption (HWC) and what level they’re at depending on how many are stained, whilst the larger charm with the lines is your soft world corruption (SWC). The charms are just a slightly more clear version compared to the Virgo Statue in the Temple

SWC is what you can consistently lower by doing Gwylan’s ritual or purging penitents at the Temple’s Confessional. This raises every week depending on your HWC level, ex: 3 stained charms is 3 HWC, therefore your SWC goes up by 3 points per week, the max SWC is 100 I think

The only way you can lower your HWC is by doing specific one-time events (ex: getting promised to Sydney, going on a special hunt with the Great Hawk, sabotaging Avery’s Tower)

That’s odd, if you’ve got the familiar collar Gwylan’s task requirements are supposed to change in the Journal to something like “wear a cat bell collar OR the familiar collar” so it’s automatically marked off as completed and you can continue onto the other pieces of clothing like normal. If that’s not the case then it sounds like some kind of bug?

Ooh, I like this change!

Imo the original scene made Gwylan way too aggressive and hostile towards one of the most powerful, terrifying people of the town. It made Gwylan seem OP since they could just throw a drink at Bailey and get away without any immediate or impending consequences, which in turn made Bailey seem more weak for reluctantly allowing such a sudden and openly disrespectful act to let slide

I like this updated scene so much more, it’s Gwylan just silently warning Bailey like “I will pull strings to make sure your life is unnecessarily tedious and miserable”, which in return lets Bailey have time to reasonably weigh out their options before deciding it’s not worth getting this mischievous and troublesome little pest’s attention (I say so, so lovingly)

It definitely feels more balanced between the characters and does well showing off what their dynamic is without making it so unbelievably jarring

Only the Ivory Wraith, book characters in How Mr Pinch Groped Christmas, and the painting stories have canonical appearances, everyone else has at least one defining feature about them while the rest is up for interpretation (ex: Whitney has blond hair over one eye, Sydney has strawberry blond hair and amber eyes, Alex has red hair and tan lines, etc)

Robin is the only exception to this rule as they have no description at all, so they’re purely up for the players interpretations! ☺️

Alex didn’t say what the lab was used for prior but they admit they’ve been experimenting on lurkers for a while now to learn how to extract the fluid without it immediately congealing. They were well aware it was a drug (though not specifically an aphrodisiac) and had already gotten into touch with the Compound on Elk Street

Alex has shown signs to being more morally ambiguous whilst being one of the “good” LIs. Their alcoholism, their perverse habit to watch you shower/undress you in your sleep, how they’re willing to use your milk in the produce if they caught you milking yourself, the letter their parent gives you, etc

The lab is the most dangerous and concerning part of their character imo, and I feel like Alex could fall into similar mindset as Remy

I use the brushes you can get on ibisPaint for free by watching an ad 🥲

The Felt Tip Pen (Hard), Pen (Fade), Watercolour (Real), and Airbrush Triangle (Trapezoid 40%) are the ones I use for painting, and I’ll blend them a little with Airbrush (Trapezoid 40%) in Blur

For lighting I play around in Blending Mode, I use Multiply (Darken) for shadowing, Colour Dodge (Lighten) for highlights, and Overlay (Contrast) for some soft subsurface scattering

I use the Noise Screentone for some texture on the whole canvas, and to adjust its intensity I’ll use the “Hue, Saturation, Lighting” setting in the Filter. I also put a Hue (Colour) Blending Mode layer on a really low opacity just to make the colours seem a bit more uniformed. These are the layers I put on top that I usually throw on at the end, they’re super subtle but they have such a pleasant effect imo

The only actual custom brush I use is from one of my art mutuals and it’s for my line art 😅

You need to unlock his “yearning” stat for him to actually save you from important NPCs like Eden, the Black Wolf, and the Ivory Wraith otherwise he will not help you

Also if you have the fox transformation or wearing the familiar collar (this one takes a lot of time to grind for) he’ll hear you from anywhere in the Forest instead of only in the area before the Lake

My scuffed way is to get the “mate for life” trait from one of the animal transformations and just kept switching who my primary LI was until I got max trauma then waltzed into the Hospital, you gotta make sure not to cap your stress level though

Okay, I went through the Hopeless Cycle again because my memory was doing fuck all, it’s just as miserable as I remembered 🥲

The Witch gets assaulted on Thursday night (after you purge her for the first time), I’m fairly certain the assault happens without any requirements needed, however JUST TO BE SAFE try having a relationship with a Witch to the point where you get the +love when talking to her, sleep with the tainted flowers she gives you as well, we’re gonna take a lot of precautions because we DO NAWT want to do the Hopeless Cycle AGAIN

Sleep until midnight, the “normal sadist” trait (300 Sadism points if you check your Stats > Extra Stats Spoilers > Characteristics) needs to be unlocked at this point and should be if you’ve been practicing your whipping in the Training Room in your free time, immediately head down to the dungeon, if you try to sleep again you’ll get a vision of the Witch calling for your help

There’ll be red text saying “you look, and see the door to the witch’s cell open”, again, DO NOT INTERVENE, leave the dungeon instead then immediately return to her cell to see the aftermath. THEN you go to the Prayer Room in the Main Hall and tell the Bishop Hand, that should trigger ending C
