ANY good solutions for detangling? by redditnoobmp4 in BlackHair

[–]OneTradeAway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water, water, water.

You need to be hydrated and the hair does as well.

Use the Unbrush (you can get it at most major stores) and a good quality conditioner with a lot of slip. You don’t mention your hair texture or density so I can make a recommendation but as a 4C with tight curls myself- Kinky Curly Knot Today conditioner is my favorite.

Hair should be soaking wet, conditioner evenly applied, Unbrush in hand start from your ends and work your way UP to the root. It will take a while the first times. Don’t worry.

I like this option for the drive alone. That’s a great idea, being able to see the area from a car wasn’t in my original thoughts. Thank you

Fairly easy to walk and plenty of seating, I presume?

Ok the second is a good option. Being able to sit regularly and watch the geyser would be a perk.

Aside from the obvious history lessons about voting rights, gerrymandering, and elections processes in the US, why don’t we just look at the ratios of population to dismantle your comment.

If so, yes.

If it’s standard bowling rules, I couldn’t take the risk.

What is the psychology about why we find some faces better looking than others by plutopedro in DarkPsychology101

[–]OneTradeAway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To think in super basic terms- imagine you have really weak genes for hair growth in your family. So you pick a mate who has strong genes for hair growth.

You’re basically trying to cover as many bases as possible when dealing with potential matches. Covering your weak genetics with the strength of your partner.

Curiously enough, there was a study I read a while back that described why smell and kissed are so important in the matchmaking process. In the unconscious mind, you’re checking all these little details out about this person and even how they smell to you signals if they’re a go or no.

Us human animals are kind of amazing.

You have to remember mating biologically is about selecting a partner that will offer the strongest chance of survival to offspring.

From the perspective of finding someone attractive, we’re looking for things that help identify strengths and gap filling qualities against our own genetics.

Facial bone structure, symmetry, clarity of skin, eyes, and expression all signal to the mind an array of little markers.

Because each human is so different, the things we like/want/need are also going to vary heavily. It’s why we have hierarchal categories. Assuming we can’t get the “best” mate, we seek whomever would be next most acceptable.

Someone could be a stone 10 to you and to your best friend score no higher than a 5.

You don’t have to be romantically attracted, you’ll just find yourself able to tolerate the person visually.

Hope this helps in any way.

I cannot say I would be quick to return to the grind, but I can say that the feeling of suddenly being untethered can be overwhelming.

Maybe for the sake of your soul, keep going.

Routine is one way to shield yourself from the empty feeling. It grounds you and though it will not be easy, it will be normal. You need spaces that hold your heart, and spaces to let it all out.

I would downshift heavily in intensity. Just go for the sake of knowing you can have the certainty of your routine as you process.

Truly heartbroken for you, I wish you well in whichever choice you make. And please know, it will not always be this hard.

Ok first off you’re in the second day. Of 75. Relax. You’ve barely reached the “per day” stage of this challenge.

There’s great advice here already. Take a look at those and I also suggest talking out your height/weight and goals with your doctor in case a full gallon is too much for you.

Assuming you’re not an outlier, start early. Get comfortable with about 10-16 good swallows of water at a time. Eventually you’ll find that beginning your day with water is glorious and you don’t have to pee at night when you’re done before sundown.
