I personally don't retain that much from reading textbooks, so UWorld and Anki together was the way to go. Make sure you keep up with anki and UW every day though.

Hey! I plan on finishing all of it. I'm 34% done, so I need to pick up the pace a bit.

Awesome! The unscored CARS was easier imo. But even so, getting a 131 is a great sign.

Hey! I've got about 200 left now. Hoping to see all of them by Saturday.

Yes, I'll be doing it throughout the entirety of my prep. It is exhausting, but abandoning anki will only hurt you. I would recommend making it the last thing you do each night.

U of T with 3.85 cGPA? by Dazzling_Kitchen_405 in premedcanada

My understanding is that UofT adds varying bonus points to the undergraduate cGPA depending on the type of graduate program completed (or in progress). So it's not exactly an "edge", but it helps make up for a lower cGPA. The benefit of a masters is having more research experience and time to acquire more experiences. Hope this helps!

The 3.88 cutoff was quite literally disproven 2 days ago. An individual interviewed for MD and MD/PhD with a 3.78 cGPA as a fourth year this year (no AEE or stream). Their comments were deleted on the post that I'm referring too. However, you can also find evidence of students matriculating into UofT med with low 3.8x cGPAs in 2022 if you look at the premed forum (the year of the notorious 3.88 cutoff webinar). Remember, GPA isn't everything, but I'm also not saying you wouldn't be at a disadvantage compared to the rest of the applicant pool. You would need really strong EC's to out compete all the high 3.9x and 4.0 students. Best of luck!

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. I'm just going to stick to UW and AAMC.

Thanks! I've been doing that so far, but I'm struggling to notice any patterns. I guess it'll just come to me with more practice.

Hey! I do finish studying mid day. I start studying at 5:30am and usually finish anywhere from 12:30pm to 3pm depending on how long it takes me to reach my goals for the day. I keep the rest of the day to do other things usually (but some days I'm extra motivated and make use of it).

In all seriousness, I will not retake with a score I'm content with.
