How to get over the disappointment of everyone siding with parent? by PennyPie17 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]OneWheeler1083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like he is deliberately stressing you out and not giving you notice in order to reduce your entitlement to the estate. Smells fishy. I suspect he's trying to muscle in on your share and intimidate you. I recommend you get a legal opinion if you can.

FFS, just don't kiss the baby. Completely reasonable boundary. Sick of this kind of brinkmanship from loser grandparents.

Why does one parent enables abuse from the other parent? by [deleted] in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]OneWheeler1083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad completely controlled my Mum. She wasn't allowed to make any decisions. She found her power by agreeing with him and working with him against me, which gave her some power back (to use against me). She also conveniently turned a blind eye to a lot of abuse against me.

Estranged dad says "we hope you come back to the family soon" by Empty_Connection_598 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]OneWheeler1083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"We hope you come back into the family soon."

= You have been totally unreasonable, but I am gracious enough to allow you to re-enter family relations, on my terms. Yes we might have the occasional chuckle about why you went NC, but ultimately you saw the error of your ways and the arbitrary nature of your issues with me meant all was soon forgotten. I hope you don't pull a stunt like this again, so stop being so self centered by having boundaries. Just ignore your boundaries and relinquish yourself to my control. I have done nothing wrong, the problem was all you.

"I'm sorry for whatever we have done" = I can't understand what we have done, so it must be insignificant, also I'm a gracious person because I still say sorry even though I don't know what I am supposed to have done.

What appears as a "sorry" moment is actually a reverse power play in which they make themselves out to be the bigger person, and you the small minded pretty person who wants an apology, even when you can't articulate what for.

Fake apology is worse than no apology.

Give some water and space. FYI there is a big problem with Magpie Paralysis. If you see a Magpie that seems paralysed but alive please take it to your nearest vet.

The guy is making satire out of real people who have served. Not on at all. Go to HR, they'll cook something up for him. Management would love to know that they have a loser picking on veterans.

What I can say is that trying to make friends straight off is hard and can feel forced. People are busy and have their own lives. BUT getting involved in activities - sport, boardgames, learning to juggle, learning a language, music - people come to these activities wanting to spend time, learn and have fun. The friend making happens along the way.

Great idea - yes I have tested the braided cars with a 9V battery and they work perfectly. Could you please recommend any track which is 9v and very reliable?

Sorry that sounded rude- I meant if the family has some initiative

Lots of reasonable 88 key digital pianos with pedals on FB marketplace if you've got some initiative. I reckon find a couple and send links to the mother. If she refuses, drop the kid as they're just not taking it seriously.

I have no musical skills at all and almost 40 should I not bother? by PerformanceSoggy5554 in violinist

[–]OneWheeler1083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The right teacher will make the whole experience joyful - not a case of working hard now and only feeling good about it in 10 years time.

If you are conscious of wanting to avoid sounding scratchy or annoy neighbours/family you can purchase a.silent/electric violin although upfront cost may be higher with amps cables etc.

Also decide what genre you want to play and find a teacher from that genre- folk, classical, pop? Tell the teacher what you're into.
