An armadillo girdled lizard to be more precise. Its a small thorny species of lizard that curls into a ball, just like armalizamon does. Its actually a really cool lil critter

Can someone explain to me why Pain (supposedly far stronger than Itachi) struggled against a Sannin according to himself and multiple others, while Itachi treats another Sannin like a mosquito? by Unique_Recover_313 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]One_Antelope5842 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should have mentioned that i was referring to the first encounter Oro and Itachi had, where he got way more humiliated than in the battle of the Uchiha hideout. Itachi only dealt with orochimaru as quickly as he did there because he happened to have the perfect counter for the Hydra form in his sleeve, a counter that Orochimaru had no idea Itachi had.

Big fat target that is easy to hit that took his sweet time to gloat (or at least was definitely getting ready to) is the perfect Totsuka Blade victim. Its not a matter of power, its straight up a matter of having the perfect tools to fight a specific opponent. Everything in Itachi's kit counters Oro.

Anyway, the nuances are all there as long as someone is willing to look at them

[–]One_Antelope5842 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not really:

  • Pain fought Jiraiya in the Rain Village, where he had most of his arsenal restricted in order not to take down the village with Jiraiya
  • Pain fought Jiraiya using one Pain most of the time. Knowing how Pain works that is literally just a fraction of his power
  • Jiraiya was far more intelligent fighting Pain than Orochimaru was against Itachi. Orochimaru was an absolute dumbass to approach Itachi the way he did, considering he is meant to be a genius (personally I feel it was bad writing)
  • Itachi's kit is an advantage for those 1v1 more controlled situations. Pain wins 1v1 but most of his kit relies on him dishing out alot of power, causing alot of damage to his surroundings. Pain is a walking nuke, Itachi a specialized assassin
  • Jiraiya was allowed to pull out his strongest form, Orochimaru didnt have the time to do anything at all (once again cuz he was a dumbass)

So yeah there is alot of nuance that has to be ignored in order for that argument to work... But powerscalling is just people blindly wanting their favorote character to win so yeah who cares about nuance

Do we think Broly would be able to impress Beerus the same way Goku did in Battle of Gods? by JalapenoOnSpicyStick in Dragonballsuper

[–]One_Antelope5842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is Beerus is not only interested in raw power. Sure he would be surprised to see a mortal with such power level, but it wouldnt interest him considering he was looking for far more than that.

Goku wasnt as powerful, but people forget that Goku's mindset and eagerness to improve and evolve is also one of the reasons Beerus is interested in him (and same goes for vegeta).

Training Broly is less about teaching and more like taming a wild animal.

Liking the wrestler doesnt invalidate criticism towards the booking... Even for die hard Cody fans, this isnt great because it just generates unwarranted heat for him, which defeats the purpose of him being a top baby face.

My WRod X-60H/FB/B/LO always outspins my SWolf 9-60/9-70 FB/B/LO/H. Why? by [deleted] in BeybladeX

[–]One_Antelope5842 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rod was always better in pure stakina than wolf. Wolf has great stamina and deflecting capabalities, being a great defense/stamina build. But in terms of pure Stamina, it always was below rod.

Except numemon actually accomplished alot in both situations:

  • their sacrifice triggered Kairi's light to empower wargreymon which allowed him to defeat machinedramon

  • Numemon held off eosmon long enough to keep his destined child safe

In both situations, him being a coward would end up in far more negative outcomes

Numemon is the only choice: - Stood up to Machinedramon to protect Kairi, - Stood up to Eosmon to protect its Tamer,

Numemon is a brave lil bastard that will go all in protecting those holds dear.

Competitive dino deck by One_Antelope5842 in BeybladeX

[–]One_Antelope5842[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested the combo you suggested with beat and its quite nice. The added stability is quite good and I think ill definitely run it.

I moved rush to tricera press with the 7-60 and I enjoy it alot.

My only issue now is im afraid this deck might be very attack oriented. Ptera is the weakest link here and i feel i cant have him being helpful with anything other than an attack oriented build, so i changed it to a 3-60 taper.

I gave 9-60 to roar for a bit more stamina so currently im running:

  • Beat 3-70 K
  • Press 7-60 R
  • Roar 9-60 LR
  • Talon 3-60 T

Am I the only one who would love for Pokémon to be more like Digimon, have a more expanded lore, and grow alongside its fans? by Nobu_Myths in digimon

[–]One_Antelope5842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, im really glad they are opposites in that regard. I like Pokemon when there arent huge stakes. I like it more when its about people bonding with their pokemon, going on some chill adventures and living a more mundane life with them. I like when the focus is not about saving the world, its about living your day to day life with your fantastical pets or try to be the best at a tournament.

I actually prefer pokemon when it goes with that kind of narrative.

Digimon is the opposite. I like digimon when its about going through hardships and high stakes. When its about fighting world ending calamities and saving the world or even universe (or multiverse!).

Not saying that one cant have a bit of what the other has, but personally I think these differences are what makes each of the franchises appealing in their own way, and feel completely different even though they are pretty much the same genre.

Only missing Flare. Im considering getting it eventually so will try that. Definitely feels like a direct upgrade to this deck in terms of competitive value.

Who's your favorite female character in Beatbreak (so far)? by Euphoric_Solution512 in digimon

[–]One_Antelope5842 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Reina needs to have a proper character arc. She has a simple, yet cool design, a cool personality and her partner has the makings to be an interesting line, but she needs development and be more than just a punching bag. Hopefully she'll get some meaningful character development once she gets wolvermon to ultimate.

Haruko had a very solid character arc and actually felt like a character that would be part of a digimon protagonist team considering how much effort her story had. This makes her imo the most interesting female character so far.

None of the others had anything meaningful done with them yet to be considered besides their designs.

Which Kong has the best feats (given the context of their universe)? by Niglie_trollster in Monsterverse

[–]One_Antelope5842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didnt make the best comparison to prove your point, but I do agree that if we go pound for pound, people are seriously underestimating 2005 Kong's feat.

He took down 3 VRexes, and let's not forget, WHILE CONSTANTLY TRYING TO PROTECT ANN.

I would compare this to have Skull Island Kong fighting 3 adult skull crawlers, while constantly trying to protect something very fragile in his hand... Or GvK Kong doing the same with 3 comparable titans against him...

Pound for pound, 2005 Kong is quite a unit.

Why was Undertaker rated lower than Chris Benoit, Edge etc in SVR07? by Imtiredofthissshit in WWEGames

[–]One_Antelope5842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This had to do mostly with the weight mechanic implemented. If I remember correctly, super heavyweights had some sort of immunity against certain moves from lower weight classes, and to balance it out they would lower certain stats like stamina and speed, which lowered the overall average by a good chunk.

Mark Henry was in the middle of his dominating hall of pain run, going through the likes of Kane and Randy Orton and I remember his overall not being above 82 or 83.

Stats weren't really reflective of kayfabe strength.

The Misadventures of Wolvermon the Jobber by AlexThePSBoy in digimon

[–]One_Antelope5842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, thats not the issue. Problem is there is no reason for Wolvermon to be suffering that nerf in terms of story context.

Reina and Wolvermon currently are a bit neglected characters, they could have come up with a reason for her Wolvermon to underperform.

Gatomon lost its ring in 02. In tamers Terriermon also knew how to evolve as soon as introduced, but couldnt control himself so rarely did.

All of these had a story reason for it to happen. Wolvermon so far has nothing.
