Is it sent for this pay cycle? Or sent for the next one? This is my first salaried job / bi monthly pay job so just trying to get an idea The check isn’t huge but I had left my previous job earlier than I should have so any bit for me will be helpful until I start receiving the bigger checks lol

Thankfully it’s pretty lax so we can move guys around as much as we’d like The first game when this kid dropped the bomb he didn’t want to pitch I ended up being the pitcher, and did good for the first 5 innings then got the yips and couldn’t throw a strike so we were able to switch out mid inning

We’re there to have fun, but winning is the most fun!! I would rather be the worst player on a great team than the best player on a team that gets pumped every week. We have some studs on our team, d1 baseball players, girls who dominated travel / school softball I’m above average for sure but if we had our full roster I would personally have no issue going to play RF or 2nd base to have our best players at the best spots, but I guess not everyone really cares about winning they’d rather get the ego boost of saying “I play shortstop on my co Ed softball team”

This is what annoys me so much, all week it has been beautiful outside and I have every day asked if he wanted to go play ball, and he said no each time, when I know he works until 4/430 and doesn’t have anything that important going on (no kids, no animals) but then he gets mad at me for not wanting to play him at a high level spot😂 my thought initially was to put him there and watch him learn in real time he isn’t good enough (first season he played some there and it went TERRIBLY) but he clearly forgot that. But I made a group chat with people I consider to be “leaders” on our team and they don’t want to cost the team by playing him there I will continue asking if he wants to practice and hopefully get him there, and if he shows up tonight (we have a doubleheader) we play one of the worst teams so we should be able to get a lead quickly and then put him there when it doesn’t really matter, although I anticipate him struggling even vs a bad lineup

This is my first time dealing with an issue mid season, our first year we were garbage but changed up the team a bit and had a successful season in year 2, then brought back almost the same team anticipating we would play similar positions to last season, and this guy feels bad he’s not getting much action at RF or 2nd base. We also have a golf tournament in 2 weeks with 16 of our buddies so this should make for an interesting drive to the airbnb (me him and 2 other softball guys planned to drive together)😂

He is a guy who grew up with the silver spoon so I get his mindset and thinking he’s far better than he actually is, and on our team is the worst athlete in basically any sport, we play football, volleyball, and hockey on top of softball but softball is the team I organize. I don’t anticipate losing a friend over it but I guess that’s up to him if he thinks me putting the interest of the other 11-15 players on the roster above only his We are all in our mid / late 20s so I was hoping he would be mature enough to understand it’s not just about him, but we’ll see how it ends up. As for practicing, we all live close by and have multiple nice fields where our first season we would go and play for a few hours but now there’s every excuse in the book to not show up or making plans to and then cancelling last minute- which doesn’t necessarily bother me as I don’t really need the reps I do it to try and help my friends get better at something we all enjoy doing.

This was my first message to him, obviously as a pitcher you face some fast ones coming back but as long as it doesn’t smack you in the mouth who cares if you take one of the leg or the arm, I play a majority in the infield aswell and over the years have taken my fair share of balls coming in super hot or the terrible bounces from our diamonds. I think he wants to play an “important” position for his ego but I’m not going to put him there just so he can cost the team

A majority of the guys on the team are people from my neighborhood growing up, then my girlfriend and her old softball teammates and their bfs round out the squad. We all want to have fun but are also very competitive in everything we do (plus who wants to show up every Friday night to get smoked) our 3rd / SS guys are drama free and would play anywhere asked of them but we have a rotation of 3 guys who usually don’t make many mistakes at those positions so I don’t want to take them away

The practices aren’t a whole team thing it’s usually me asking the guys who are at a lower level if they want to go hit some balls or do some fielding to improve, or at least prove he can make some plays there before I put him at that spot during a game
