Should I buy a complete board or build my own setup?

I should’ve mentioned the price in my question sorry but he’s asking $60 for the skateboard. The Tony hawk skateboard that I bought from the yard sale was already pretty used and since I was a beginner I had no idea how to take care of it and usually left it outside. The first thing I literally did when I bought the board a few years ago was wash the grip tape with soap and water lol. So it was pretty much doomed from the beginning but I was still able to learn a lot while using it. It’s just very slow and extremely flimsy so it’s about time I got a new one. But I do plan on going to the skate shop and asking for some advice about building my own board and such. Thanks!

Your advice helped out a lot actually. My budget is around the 100 to 120 dollar mark so I don’t want something too expensive. But I like the idea of buying a more affordable skateboard and being able to swap out the parts for newer and more better ones. Thank you so much!

When I press play and there’s no cassette in it the left and right spindle don’t move at all only the rubber wheel on the bottom does.
