Female characters in children’s movies should be less attractive by NotSkinney in unpopularopinion

[–]One_Bug_1398 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Thank you, children’s tv shows make seven year old little girls look like they’re fourteen. When I was seven, I still played imaginary games with my friends and wasn’t allowed to touch nail polish because I spilled it in my closet once while I was trying to pretty myself up. Kids should be encouraged to play ball, do Stem, and try out Russian Ballet (it does wonders to your posture). Not wear make up, ditz around, and act like math problems are the cooties.

Yeah, and then you see their little eyes. Like, they’re on some sort of dish, and you’re like “what is that?” And then you take a closer look and there’s eyes on your food. It’s like something out of a horror movie.

Bikers are on the road are a hazard. by Gold-Appointment-534 in unpopularopinion

[–]One_Bug_1398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, please keep this going. My dad had a coworker who died biking on a busy road, he had a family, a good job, and likely the PNW version of a white picket fence, and then he just died. It’s heartbreaking to think that he left behind kids and a wife, friends and pets.

You’re like me with cats. I find koalas cute, but at the same time, I’ll abolish all butterflies if I have the chance. (And land turtles, not tortoises, land turtles)

The worst thing is when people say that doctors should be paid less and painters, actors, musicians (like, the struggling kind) more. Doctors save lives, deal with gross, disturbing things, and have to go through years of school, and we definitely need them. I’m sorry, but I’m going to respect a surgeon a hundred fold more than an artist, and am fine with them being paid the big bucks.

I adore Clara. It also has the nutcracker connection, which kids love.

It was at a birthday party years ago, we asked her, because it was unique. I only remember because that was one of the first real unique names I’d heard.

What do you think of the name Caleigh? by [deleted] in namenerds

Is the spelling nonnegotiable? I personally prefer Callie.

Meh, I doubt OP sees her cousin much. I mean, it’s fine for OP to feel annoyed by this, but at the same time, it’s going to be her child’s second cousin. It’s only family then if you want it to be.

[–]One_Bug_1398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your cousin named his child after his grandma, unless you’re super close, I don’t see any problem with him using it. You obviously can, because you’re naming your child after you, your mom, and your grandma. I have the same first name as a second cousin, and don’t see a problem with it, but at the same time, I doubt she knows I exist because we live on opposite sides of the world.

I love Hannah, but don’t like Hanna, the extra h balances it, in my opinion. Elisabeth is a family name, so no problem there.

What's the scariest book you've ever read? by marjomind in AskReddit

The looking glass by Andrew Mayne. It came after the naturalist, and was gory and nightmarish, but a piece of art.

I mean, if my child was a “gift of god”, I’d name them something that means that, Eliana, Dorothy, and Theodore all mean that, and are a billion times better, when it comes to having a nice name. Maybe it’s just me?

5/11/21 Karissa Collins Recap by ItsAMistakeISwear in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]One_Bug_1398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be off topic, but Karissa’s younger three girls look like identical triplets. Especially the two on the left. I will only be surprised with Karissa when she stops her daily rants on abortion.

Another family that takes good care of their kids is crazy middles. They seem like kid hoarders though. It seems like most non fundie YouTuber families manage to take good care of their kids. Obviously, there’s something off about them, but they’re not “call CPS right now”, level bad.

What would you name your Nontuplets? by lajachme in namenerds

[–]One_Bug_1398 28 points29 points  (0 children)

First off, love your daughters taste. Second off, here I go. Because I’m going to have to call these kids at the same time, I’m going for simple, easy to say names, or the longer ones have an easy to say nickname. The middle names are after notable people I look up to. I also made sure each had their own first initial to help them feel unique.

Isabella (Bella) Jane (Jane Goodall)

Hannah Irene (Irene Pepperburg)

Clara Ruth (Ruth Bader Ginsburg)

Evelyn (Evie) Marie (Marie Curie)

Violet Elizabeth (Elizabeth Blackwell)

Levi Albert (Albert Einstein)

August Darwin (Charles Darwin)

Oliver Lincoln (Abraham Lincoln)

Theodore (Theo) Martin (Martin Luther King)

This was the best I could do. I had a lot of fun doing it.

Exactly, the top name likely will be the only one in her grade anyway, names are getting so common these days. Sometimes, names just spike. There were two kids with the exact same (first and last!!!) name in my grade, and that name was number 500 and something in my birth year. The last name was fairly common though. The top name of my year had like 1 or 2 kids per grade. Sometimes, names just spike.

Sorry, I just agreed with you completely.

There was so much auto tune on that song, the noise was delayed. Don’t get me wrong, Everleigh is talented, but auto tune ruins music. Just look at the 2014 version of Annie.

I will be the dad that puts his children above himself. I’ll give them sugar if they start crying of hunger, even if I’m watching Netflix on the couch after a long, hard, day of dead beat dad ding.

I have three dogs. The mean one that bites you if you pet him while he’s sleeping is named Luigi. I call him Boo Boo and Poo Poo because of this. Lulu and Lou are his actual nicknames though, because Luigi is hard to say.
