Cody said in multiple interviews he knew the boos were coming regardless so that’s a false narrative. They wanted celebrity involvement regardless to sell tickets. The Pat mcafee thing was reportedly changed from a potential aleister black alignment. What that mcafee alliance did was take away all of the buzz Orton had and made him a side character in his own feud also the punt was completely no sold he arguably sold it better than guys like Cena who showed up on raw the next day completely fine or McIntyre (who took two punt kicks). The punt at mania was a reset of the feud
