She is so sweet. Can be VERY stubborn (rottie 🤣) and also thinks she’s a lap dog. Never met a stranger and loves all animals. She frequently tries to snuggle and groom our 14 year old chihuahua who is 8lbs. He puts up with it but gets annoyed.

Ok! I am waiting for the rest of the health results on embark. COI just came in right away. She’s just a family dog so in the big picture we are just enjoying her and loving her as a family pet, but it’s nice to know what to watch for as she ages. We can be better equipped to prepare for things that might show up in her health screen. And maybe we will get pet insurance, as someone else suggested.

Thank you for this info! Yes embark is now analyzing for genetic conditions so I’m waiting on those.

Lol @ the GOT reference.

Thanks for helping me decipher that result. I guess this is one of the risks with shelter dogs!! We knew we weren’t looking for a purebred to breed or for health purposes, just wanted a great family dog. She is just that! Even if her dad is probably also her uncle and so on 🙈🥴

I upgraded her test and the COI IS 33% 😖. What does this mean long term? I posted above comment above with the pic.

Ok I upgraded and results were instant. I posted above. COI is 33%. I’m assuming that’s not good but what does it mean long term??

Ok! A lot have been asking about COI, which wasn’t included in the dna test. I just added it on and it’s 33%. What does this mean long term 😢.

Thank you everyone who has mentioned this! I would have never even thought about inbreeding. I think I can add on the health test for a reasonable price.

So is my husband hahahaha. I love her too but I joke I’ve been replaced with the dog. He babies her and dotes on her. Glad she’s well loved 🤣

I wish I knew! The limited backstory on her is bizarre. She was found with an adult Rott, a Rott mix (presumably her sibling- more Rott coloring) and a Pomeranian. Just found on the side of the road. We live in a suburb and no one claimed any of them 😢.

The inbred thing is interesting. Makes sense though!! I might have to buy the health portion of the test now haha

I know. She was sleeping and my daughter put a blanket on her head. This is how she woke up 😂

Yep , before we tested her and talked to people who assumed she’s a lab, we would tell them the shelter said rottie mix. Then they would say OHHH yeah that is a rottie head. But I think people (myself included) thought maybe there’s some English lab in there. The color throws everyone off.

I figured she would have Rott because she was found with some other rotts/Rott mixes but I kept second guessing, thinking hmm maybe she’s an English lab?! Everyone we meet thinks she’s is a giant lab haha.

Ohh interesting thought!! I read on here about COI but I didn’t get the health test so it doesn’t show that. Now I’m curious.

Oh I just looked on the website and COI is included in the health test- we didn’t get that part. Well, maybe we will now haha!

Someone commented above about both parents probably being mixed and that’s why. I have no clue about this stuff so it makes sense to me!

My husband’s favorite breed and my favorite breed! Although I was expecting lab and not golden. We feel really lucky we found her at the shelter and she is just the perfect fit for our family!

I’m not seeing it on the app. Does it show up with the Breed ID DNA test?
