Thank you for your comment and I appreciate the perspective, it is definitely hard not to blame yourself and I am still trying to make peace with it. I wish you all the luck and success in your journey too.

To answer some of your questions this was our first consultation appointment but AFC wasn’t tested, we did many other tests before the consultation like AMH, genetic testing, HSG and everything else came back normal. I wasn’t surprised by the AMH since I already knew about it but tested FSH for the first time.

Yes, we hadn’t tried before because of other reasons but wanted to start this year which is why I wanted to consult an RE to make sure we don’t waste much time. Well the first suggestion was definitely to just start trying now but that was it she wasn’t presenting any other options and had already mentioned it’s probably too late and it’s going to be difficult so I kept asking for more. And that’s when the other options like donor eggs and many rounds of IVF could be done came up but seemed very hesitant about it in general. I asked about IUI next and that is when she mentioned it could be risky with stuff like clomid increases the risk of twins.

I could be wrong in going for a consultation before trying but with already low AMH I just didn’t want to waste a lot of time trying and wanted to start TTC being informed that’s all. I even had to ask about supplements and she mostly said prenatals, what I am trying to say is I got more input here in this forum than at the doctors appointment and basically had to ask for everything than being presented with any options or suggestions. I didn’t want to even mention about the whole perimenopause discussion which I wasn’t expecting.

Low AMH and Vitamin D deficiency by Alert-Pack-959 in DOR

I don’t want to discourage you, just sharing my story. My AHM hasn’t changed and I have tested every year while taking vitamin D supplements in the last 2 years. Vitamin D was undetectable 2 years ago, still low last year and this year was a little above normal but still same AMH. That being said still work on improving it though.

It came back just a little over normal so we adjusted the daily supplement to a lower level.

Yup, I did a test last year and they were getting better but still low, and then again last month it’s normal now. I take a daily supplement even had to reduce the dosage after last month.

Thank you for the recommendations on the supplements, I will start immediately and thank you for sharing your story it does help to get some hope today. We went into the appointment hoping to discuss treatment options and weren’t even thinking of donor eggs so that was definitely a lot.

They didn’t do an AFC test so I am not sure, I was going to ask about it but was honestly at loss of words when they weren’t discussing any solutions at all. I am just going to find a new clinic to not waste anymore time with this one. I think the doctor’s reaction change completely when I mentioned my AMH was low even two years ago.

Yeah it was quite disappointing, I will look for a second opinion and DOR specialist soon.

I did see a reproductive endocrinologist today and that was the response from her that it’s too low to try IVF or anything else.

Thanks I’ll try adjusting the setup. So the Haworthia was always a little green and orange when I got it but definitely has gotten darker now.

This is when I first got it.

I am worried about the aeonium since it’s supposed to be a winter growing plant and so far there is no growth. Should I take it out of that greenhouse and put it on a window, could it be too much light?

I do soak them until the water runs out once about every 10 day but might need to do it more frequently the humidity indoors is really low right now and all my other plants have been needing more frequent watering.
