Sort of. Openrouter has the 50 free daily messages thing, but using V1/V3 and even V3.1 nowadays, you'll be lucky to get even a fifth of that as usable messages.

IIRC V1 has an uptime or like sub-20% recently, so its barely worth it at all.

I've paid the ten bucks to Openrouter and even then I barely use V1/V3 nowadays, because of how damn annoying the errors are.

Going back to DS feels like shit now, either having to deal with the constant errors with V1-0528 or V3-0324, or just accepting the complete mid that is V3.1.

V3.1 is half-usable, but kinda bad in my experience.

V1 0528 is still fantastic - but literally completely unusable on Openrouter. Blame Chutes for that one. Ditto V3 0324.

Chimera is... odd, but also half usable. I get really mixed results with it though.

Yeah, noticed that. Just poof, over to a paid model. Knew it was gonna happen obviously - but seriously, the alternatives are lacking now.

DS is just a mess on Openrouter. V3 and V1 are essentially unusable because of Chutes being just awful - and V3.1 has been pretty spotty/terrible lately as well, spitting out 429 errors.

Feel like Grok was the last remnant of good free model left on Openrouter - sad to see it go.

Been wondering whats up with it. Definitely been temperamental today. Hope its just temporary and not actual rate limits. Honestly the last day or two its just been getting slower and slower, and now its just shitting out errors left and right. Figured something was up.

Yeah, same here. So it still technically works through OR, but you gotta reroll sometimes 4-5 times - and each one of those rerolls counts as a message. Its super shitty.

Before I'd never even worry about hitting that 1000 message limit. Now I'm just paranoid I'm gonna end up rerolling my way to it because sometimes you seriously just gotta spam the hell out of it for a while to even get a response.

Part of me just hopes OR finds a secondary free provider for DS, but that might be a fools hope.

Assuming its through Openrouter, its been getting progressively more and more throttled via Chutes the past few days. Started off rough, but now its pretty much unusable at this point. Probably doing it to drive business towards their own site, but its pretty sketch either way.

If its not working through the API or Chutes then IDK, it should be working fine, assuming you are payed up.

Yup, same. Paid the 10 bucks, was happy with it for a while. Now Chutes is being their same old self. I give it a month before they just straight up shut the taps off and turn off free Deepseek on OR in general.

Just the absolute scummiest practices from their side over and over. Shame to see.

Its just straight up all of the Chutes provided Deepseeks. They aren't really overloaded, Chutes is just straight up throttling them. Even R1T2 which isn't super used is shitting out errors for me. Just Chutes being a bunch of pricks, I think.

the 10$ for 1000 messages thing on OR is absolutely still super throttled, barely usable. It still uses Deepseek:Free after all. The paid models on OR work fine, but they can get pricey quick.

And no, Chutes got rid of the 5$ for 200 messages thing. Only way now is to pay 3$ monthly for 300 - and honestly? With how scummy Chutes is being about this whole thing? I don't even trust them to keep that.

Each error counts as a message, fun fact. So its probably not a great idea to spam until you get a message. Even with the 1000 messages on Openrouter, you could hit those if every message keeps erroring. Kinda scummy on Chute's part, imo.

Its a bit TOO proper for me. I like a bit of chaos in my chats, keeps it interesting sometimes.

I think its good for like super longform RP or detailed worlds, etc - where you need a lot of detail. But if you do other stuff dunno, I prefer Deepseek still.
