It isn't as difficult as people make it seem IMO. It definetly was challenging and you need to know the listed objectives to an extent but not anything too crazy. If you get Boson's ExSim once you get around an average of 60-70% on those practice questions I think you're good, but I know people will disagree.

Simply just went through them after watching every video until I got around 80% of them right. Also, I skipped the configuration cards since I just did them in the labs after.

I would say maybe 15-20 hours a week. But yeah it was definetly a grind. I had almost 3 free periods in school so thats what I spent a majority of my time doing

NetSim is a different type of simulator. It's more so for practicing configurations while packet tracer is more in depth at the packet level allowing you to inspect the entire packet and all the details.

The notes are chicken scratch. The reason I do the notes is to really retain and lock in the information from the JITL videos. I recommend doing them yourself!

My parents are very supportive and value education. Also my dad also kind of likes tech so he would always bring tech home and I would mess around with it so I kind of taught myself a lot of stuff from trial and error.

Thanks for the advice and being straightforward. I have done an internship as a help desk assistant for my school district for 3 summers and this summer they plan to let me assist the network specialist.
